The Resort Golf Club
About
The Resort Golf Club is one of Fort Worth's finest golfing destinations. The course sprawls across the rolling hills of north Texas and wraps around the shores of Eagle Mountain Lake. Mature live oaks line the narrow fairways, providing some tight holes with difficult shot selections that demand accuracy, but there are also holes with open, more forgiving tees. Golfers will want to make sure they bring a strong iron game when playing this golf course since there rock walls and bunkers strategically bordering the raised greens. There are also water hazards that come into play along the greensides and fairways. It is a golf course that will reward skill and strategy over strength alone. The 16th is one of the toughest holes but with a good approach and a bit of luck, there is an opportunity for a birdie.

Fair price but not an enjoyable round of golf
The breakfast in the bar was the highlight of the day. Great sandwich and burrito. The course had some fun holes but the layout is dangerous and ridiculous at times. Several times driving backwards green the green into on coming players approach shots along with too many blind shots. Hard to see groups in front. No course marshal or starter to regulate play. We had a single in front of a 2some. We ended up asking the single to play with us. Several times it was difficult to figure where to go from 1 hole to the next. Real estate & maximizing the # of homes was definitely the priority. Houses very close to the fairways and tee boxes. Finally there is hardly any grass on the course at all. It’s not just dormant, it’s non existent in many areas. Bunkers are not raked or maintained, 1 fairway has a lake in the middle of it even though the weather has been really nice. Fairway wasn’t draining into the lake for some reason. Overall one of the least emotionless rounds I’ve played in a long time. Luckily it was only $45 after tax on GN.
Rained out
I played 1.5 holes and was told it was lightning so return to the club house. I asked when i got there is it going to rain us out. No rain check no refund.
Unorganized and overwhelmed
I recently played and I will say the course probably should not even have been open. Having said that , our tee time was delayed an hour and the guy in the pro shop was pretty inflexible. I’d assume for an hour after tee time we’d get some grace , either with a 9 hole rain check or free range balls etc…I get a weather delay but showing up and having to wait an extra hour is obnoxious. I will say he offered a refund but I drove 45 mins to play here on a Sunday. Long story short , paid for 18 , played 12 brutally slow holes on greens that needed more time after the snow. I won’t be back for a while.
T boxes need work many felt like you were teeing up in a sand box, greens are fast but manageable, the fairways are in good shape for this time of the year.
Fun Course.
The course was pretty easy to get to. The actual golf course is a lot of fun. Now my wife and I played on the first Saturday of January in winter. The greens were pretty hard because of course it’s cold, the grass was of course dormant because of course winter. I still thoroughly enjoyed myself. My wife enjoyed her fist round of Golf and we both got fresh Hot Coffee from the roaming drinks cart. Great Golf and Great fun. The course is actually a lot of fun. The club house is largely available to the public but it’s not really anything special but it’s nice and the staff is fantastic.
Course in Good Shape, Greens in Great Shape
The course is in really good shape for this time of year. The greens are in great shape and fast as heck! If you like fast greens then you will love these, but if you don't, then you will have a miserable day or be scared as heck to putt, especially if you have a downhill putt.
Friendly staff
Mixed on this course. Fairways are tight and often against the grain with another fairway so watch out for errant shots coming at you. Trees lines are tight and leaves not blown so even if you’re 5’ off the fairway you can easily lose a ball. Fairways themselves were brown, short, hard, and most players don’t replace divots or repair. So fair at best. All of that said, the greens were immaculate. This is clearly where they spend their time and money and it shows.
Great staff
Golfed over the weekend. The course was clean and well maintained. The greens had very consistent speeds. After the round, I could not locate a lost item. Riley and his staff in the shop and golf shed went above and beyond to help me and followed up promptly. They did this while a tournament was underway! Thanks to all; I recommend and will be back again.
Great course
Course in great shape. Staff was friendly. Bunkers are iffy but in process of big renovation to all. Should be great soon. Will be going back.
Meanest staff
The guy in the pro shop was awful. Most insufferable human I have ever met. I walk in there to get range balls he says, “No.” I reply with, “why” he says some rule and says “you’re not even a golfer otherwise you would have known that.” That is the rudest some has been to me in a long time and someone in the same feild of work this was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.
