The Resort Golf Club

We are a senior couple who recently found this very nice course. It has some challenging holes, but nothing so intimidating that we can’t enjoy our round. Our lost-ball count was typical, so no real complaints about the rough. The staff has been very friendly and helpful in the two rounds we have played, which makes us eager to return. And the clubhouse is first-rate, with outdoor seating by the pool to enjoy a break for lunch or a cool drink. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality offered all the way around.

Tee boxes and greens need work. Greens need to be rolled. The day we were there several holes were under water. The holes aren’t marked well.

The Resort is a good course that always seems to be getting better, and that’s a good thing. I began playing The Resort several years back during The Great Recession, and in the middle of a hard core Texas Draught. The fairways were hard baked, and had hard pan in many areas. The greens always rolled true, but they were far from soft. The draught had more to do with this than the maintenance crew. Even when DFW got the occasional rainstorm, it seemed to dodge The Resort somehow, and leave the course’s irrigation system on its own to perform the impossible. Nonetheless the staff was incredibly friendly and the layout was absolutely intriguing. So I kept going back.

Since that time the economy has come back, and so has the rain. This has been good news for the course which has greened up nicely

while e the crew has re sodded where necessary, and added good quality sand to the one time hit or miss bunkers. The layout remains intriguing, and while the greens have been recently aerated roll soft and true. As the irrigation comes back on line, I expect the course to continue to green up, and the greens to continue to soften.

This course is a real gem in the making, but due to the good economy, they are starting to sell a lot more houses within the original development plan. As more houses sell, and the course continues to improve, the day will come when the original plan to take it private will come true. Great course. Play it while you can..

The fairways had recently been aerated which made playing a little more challenging, but it was in pretty good condition. Some holes were very difficult while most were fun so it had a variety of holes to test your abilities.

I received a discount rate to play. For a discount it was a decent course but I would hesitate to pay full price. Currently course is in rough shape with sand and aerated greens. Tee boxes were in rough shape. Fairways were a mix of hard pan, standing water, perfect cut, to a bare spot. Course layout is interesting and would have played many shots differently if I had played before. Overall average course.

Greens have been punched and sanded but another 2 weeks should take care of that. Fairways seem a little hard pan but they are still coming back from winter.

All in all not in bad shape.

If i had know or the staff updated me of the conditions of the greens I would have opted to play at another date.

The fairways were fairly dry and fast, but the greens were in the best shape that I have ever seen.

4th time playing these links. This course is becoming one of my favorites. Challenging back 9 that will test you. Very fun and beautiful layout. I definitely recommend playing this course!

Great course. Needs work on fairways and tee boxes. Green’s are super soft and slow. After we tee’d off on 10, the maintenance crew started WATERING THE GREEN. In the middle of our round. I called the pro-shop and the gentleman that answered said. “It shouldn’t effect the way your ball rolls or anything”

Right.

A soaking wet green is EXACTLY the same as a dry one.

Not even an apology was offered.

Haven’t played there that I have not had fun. It’s challenging for me, especially the back nine. My two favorite holes are 16 and 17. It will be nice when it’s warmer and the grass comes back. Love it.

I’ve played this course probably 30 times and each time I’ve taken my son out with me with no issues. Today, however, I was informed that I would be subject to a $20 riders fee for him despite never being charged this before. When I informed the staff I’ve never been charged that I was told I was lying by the pro shop employee and that he had never seen me before. I played here twice in this past week, both times interacting with that exact employee, and had no issues.

The fact that I have played this course numerous times and they still don’t recognize return customers is disappointing. Further, to be called a liar by a golf course employee is even more disrespectful. I can’t encourage customers to avoid playing here enough. Absolutely disgusting behavior by their employees.
