The Resort Golf Club
About
The Resort Golf Club is one of Fort Worth's finest golfing destinations. The course sprawls across the rolling hills of north Texas and wraps around the shores of Eagle Mountain Lake. Mature live oaks line the narrow fairways, providing some tight holes with difficult shot selections that demand accuracy, but there are also holes with open, more forgiving tees. Golfers will want to make sure they bring a strong iron game when playing this golf course since there rock walls and bunkers strategically bordering the raised greens. There are also water hazards that come into play along the greensides and fairways. It is a golf course that will reward skill and strategy over strength alone. The 16th is one of the toughest holes but with a good approach and a bit of luck, there is an opportunity for a birdie.

Needs water
Fairways are like concrete, greens are extremely slow and not cut down like they should be.
The bent grass greens are beautiful
The fairways were only fair and not much evidence of watering regularly. However the bent grass greens were great. Quite a few unseen hazards that desroy your game if you don't know they are there.
So Good
Beautiful course even in the middle of summer. Love coming here to play!
Great challenge for little money
Picked up a hot deal for $16.00 on a hot summer day. Course was not crowded so pace of play went nicely, was done with 18 and back in air-conditioned truck within 3.5 hrs. The design/ layout is appealing to the eye while also presenting some challenges in the form of a few really tight fairway drives, uphill approach shots, or forced water carries. The overall condition was moderate. There are some dead patches on some greens, some hard-pan tight fairways, and things of that nature. The friendly staff was honest about these issues when I arrived and promised they are working on it.
While I did not expect nor experience a course on par with a 100-200 dollar per round golf course, I will say overall I enjoyed my round, especially the beautiful whitetail doe standing within 2 feet of the green helping me read a putt on number 3.
Course conditions declining
The practice green will give you an idea of the course conditions. About half of the greens have dead spots so the ball doesn't roll smoothly - fairways and tee boxes are hard as a rock. Played this course several times last year - this is the worst I have seen it.
Great Course
Beautiful course tucked up near to Eagle Mountain Lake in a brand new sub division. There are a few fairways that are tight with houses on either side and a few that are wide open. Some fairways feature different elevations and trees while others are flat and open. Some of the greens are very small and protected adding to the challenge. The day we played, the greens were choppy so a few four letter words flew freely.
Nice layout horrible conditions
This was my second time playing The Resort .....i was really disappointed in the Green and Fairway conditions not sure if its just poor course management or they just don't want to put more money into making the course a top quality place to play .....if i had to pay a higher price to play this golf course I would take my money elsewhere !
Too hard of a course for beginner to intermediate golfers
Played on a Saturday with a tee time of 11:52am. Paid roughly 29.00 a person through GolfNow hot deals. Course was not in the best shape, ground is super hard and fairways have bare/sandy spots throughout. All the water in the hazards was dried up. Very tight fairways on every shot with OB or Hazards on either side of the fairways. Too hard of a course for beginners. Greens were bare, bumpy, and sandy. Bunkers were in surprisingly good shape. Played the course once, probably wont play it again.
Greens need work
Very nice course overall. Great staff. Great value. Only complaint were a couple greens were in bad shape and some very bumpy
Course not maintained, Greens are diseased
Came back to this course as I enjoyed playing it last year; what I remembered was excellent layout and a course that was very well maintained. But the course if pretty run down now. The fairways are like cement in many spots with no grass; ok I did a pick and place at spots since I am no PRO and this is Texas. But when you reach the greens, things get even worse. Most greens have weeds so putting is more about luck. What is most vivid is Green #2 (Par 3) and Green #18 (Par 5); Green #2 is diseased which is not very difficult to fix but shows they dont maintain this course well; Green #5 is sanded on the front side so anything you hit pulls the ball right and luck of the draw if it will even go through to the hole. This course has promise, but it needs to overhaul its maintenance.
Old Favorite
Greens were in terrible shape, but everything else was (as always) was in great condition. Greens looked like they were recovering from sort of fungus or something, only 1 green was actually puttable. the rest were auto two putt. Will be back, its still a great course and a great value!
Terrible conditions
Since this cours always comes up on golf now, I finally gave it a try when I had time to drive 35 minuted from Fort Worth and that was a huge mistake. I’m not terribly picky about my courses, but this was AWFUL conditions and the greens were TERRIBLE! Putts would zig zag at random, which you would expect with so many bumps. I had one putt where I went across ~12 feet of sand-grass-sand-grass. Take it from someone whose not picky, it’s not worth playing here. Oh ya, and the tee boxes were so hard it was so difficult to get a tee in the ground.
Greens Need Work
I played at the Resort about 3 years ago, and the greens were in great shape. Putting aside the fact that the greens had been aerated about 1 week before I played this time, I can say that the greens were terrible. While a few were is reasonable shape, most had large bare patches and were mostly sand. Every putt was bumpy, and I watched my playing partner miss a 1 foot putt because the ball took a bump and a left turn at the cup. It appears that the course needs to do some serious work to get the greens in playing shape.
The Resort
We drove out from Carrollton and Las Colinas. This course is in need of grass and fertilizer. Many holes, you should not hit more than three wood from tee box. The greens had a problem that has been killed off. I hope they can get the grass to come back. It is not as bad as Tour 18, but not far from it.
The Resort
It a good layout but some of the greens had hard patchy areas. I would play again, but only in the early part of the day.
Disappointed.
Nobody told me that they had just sanded the greens. Fairways were in good shape. Have played several times and like the layout. I will probably go back, but not for a while.
