Heron Lakes
The man at the pro shop initially said he could not take my on-line reservation because it was on a holiday weekend. He eventually honored the on-line buy.
The course was OK. The fairways were fine but the greens were quite "hairy" with fairly long grass. It made putts very slow and a bit unpredictable.
Horribly maintained greens and tee boxes. Felt like I was playing on someones backyard instead of a golf course.

Keep it straight!
It's a tough course in the fact that it is so narrow. Balls have a way of disappearing into the plentiful vegetation around the fairways.
Good economical course!
Heron Lakes is a short and narrow course that is very economical. The greens often need attention, however it is a good beginners course for the value and experience. While this sounds a bit critical, I really like the course for the value factor.
SO-SO FOR THE $$$
If you don't mind playing a very easy course with poorly managed greens, then this is the course for you. Also, there are zero sand traps on this course making it that much easier for the novice golfer. The pro-shop girls are very sweet however and the food there is great!
The course is tight, and greens are like the fair way,
I thought the houses were way to close to the course,,, house get hit constantly.. PLus the greens looked like the fair way,,,, Putts bounced all over the place.... could not use the driver but 2 times.... if it was 20 bucks for 18 it would be worth it... if your trying to play a quick round.. Other than that i would not recommend this course to anyone... but beginners...
Fun little track that needs alot of TLC
The course is not much to look at, but it's no pushover either. This course is definately one of the shortest tracks out there, but the fairways are narrow and you need to be precise with your tee shots. The layout of the course with the variety of holes is surprisiingly fun, however I think the yardages are way off. The greens keepers were out in force, taking care of what there is, but there is some much needed work on the greens specifically.
Absolutely horrible course - total waste of what little $$ I spent to play.
Unquestionably the sorriest excuse for a golf course (?) I have ever had the displeasure of spending 3 hrs.of time on.
This course is shott but tight nice challenge.
Great location course in good shape with lots of upgrades happening. Look forward to playing again.
Good value course
A couple of long par-3s and some narrow approach shots make for a adequate challenge for the average player. Not too crowded on the Friday afternoon I played, which was nice. Not the most pristine conditions; but for the GolfNow price that I received, I thought this course was a decent value.
Course layout is good, somewhat narrow fairways makes it tough.
In general the course is OK. Most of the holes have narrow fairways and they are crowned, so your ball has a tendency to roll toward the Hedgerows that line most of the course. Makes you hit them straight. Major complaint - the greens. They need a lot of help.
The greens grass are not consistent
Now that I'm learning to play better, I'm starting to enjoy Heron Lakes. The grasss on the greens are not consistent so it is hard to judge or develop a consistent putting swing.
Worth the money
Heron Lakes is an "executive" course, with most par 4s in the 250 yd long range, making it not very difficult from a length standpoint. However, it lives up to the "Lakes" part of its name, with water in some form or another coming into play on almost every hole. The layout is fairly scenic, and the times when I have played the course after rains, it has had fairly lush fairways. The downside to Heron Lakes lies in the greens. There are many weeds and coarse grasses in them, making the greens seem like closely cut fairways, rather than putting surfaces. Any put over 10 inches is an adventure in seeing which way the ball will bounce. At a pricepoint of less than $20 for a round of 18 holes, including cart, Heron Lakes is a bargain, despite its warts.
Heron Lakes
Short with some tight holes. Average condition, very hard to find the actual pro shop. Mosquitoes were pretty bad.
Terrible condition and staff not helpful
There's almost no difference between the fairway and the green. Unfortunately I didn't printed nor had in my phone the confirmation of the tee time. When the lady at the club house asked me for it she wasn't helpful despite that she has a computer. As I live outside of the U.S. I don't have the chance to have internet in my phone so I asked her if she had one and she said no, which she did have an Iphone charging under the glass counter. A gentleman that was there provided me with his phone and when I showed her the confirmation I noticed that she hid her phone under newspapers.
Must hit the fairways
Good course for the price. Tight fairways lined with thick hedges.
Short course but good for practice.
