Challenging par-3, #8 Photo submitted by ConnieBlack on 05/26/2014
Beautiful course!
Everything was nice, the layout, maintenance, manicure, greens, except there were lots of mosquitoes.
Bring your bug spray
Have played here twice. The mosquitoes are horrible. It is usually in good shape year round but quite pricey. If you like boring, straight par 4's, this is the place for you. Not worth the drive in my opinion.
The course was ok, due to heavy rains the day prior- standing water in fairways and in some bunkers- cart path only
Loved the course, wish water was not there, but we need the rain, but always enjoy playing there. Wish it was a lil cheaper, so i could play more :/
Beautiful course in the protected wet lands of Lake Jackson
I have played this course numerous times and it is always a first class experience.
AWSOME!!!!
Great course, layout , greens, fairways!!!! BEAUTIFUL!! IF you get a chance GO PLAY!!!!! Awsome
Sanded Greens
Great value for a wonderful golf course. The Wilderness was in great shape (tee boxes, fairways, bunkers) however, we caught the course after recent sand treatment. One week from now, the greens should be perfect.
conditios were very enjoyable
very good, we had a great time.
food service is very slow
Fun layout with several great views
Had a lot of dead spot lies and some unusual bounces but for the money it was a nice day on the golf course.
Great Course
Great day and great course to play. I've played this course a few time now and plan on more trips.
Spectacular!!
What a beautiful course! Surrounded by protected wetlands and bird sanctuary, this is an amazing golf experience. The fairways are in excellent condition and the greens roll well. I have played faster greens but not many with more tiers and undulations. LOVE this place! Well worth the trip from Houston and bring a buddy to share the experience with.
Worth the drive
My husband and I both enjoyed this scenic course. About 40 min south of Pearland. Will definitely return. Lots of flowers, color and wildlife. Pace of play was good.
Excellent greens and great condition
I will return to play, the 1st green was not as good shape so I was wondering on the course but the rest were in perfect shape.
Challenging course
Though it is a bit far from Houston, I really enjoyed my round. The greens were rather difficult to read and some hole locations were nearly impossible. I will come back in the summer to see it fully in bloom.
Excellent, scenic, well-maintained course
With Moody Gardens in Galveston, The Wilderness is the best municipal course in the Houston area. The course winds through huge, moss- covered oaks in a river bottom with alligators, nutria, and millions of birds. It is well maintained, especially the greens which are smooth and putt true. I had 9 one putts during my last round. That is about 3 times my usual total. The staff is super friendly and the course is uncrowded. We played on a Monday afternoon and there were fewer than 20 groups on the course.
I love playing this course.
Even in January the course was in great shape. The only downside was the foursome in front was slow and wouldn't allow our twosome to play through. The greens were in great shape and rolling nicely.
very enjoyable course. not too difficult not too easy
course in very good condition. large driving areas but challenging greens. greens are large but with a lot of slope. some very interesting puts if you are in the wrong place. staff is the friendliness I have been around. and the other players who obviously play there regularly are also very friendly. They do not act as if it is their course and you do not belong there. Other players helped with several hole locations and also where to eat and not to eat. I wish the course was not an hour from my house. This is the only place I would play if it was closer.
Nice course worth the drive
Wilderness is a fairly long drive from Houston, but it should be added to your list of courses to play. From the tips it plays very long. Many of the longest and most difficult holes are also facing into the wind. It offers a good range of holes that play shorter, wide open, tight and even make you position your ball for better approaches to the green. Greens were in excellent condition. Lot's of tees for golfers of all skill levels.
Great Course worth the drive from Houston
Very tough but well laid out course. I would not suggest playing here after it has rained though. They shut down the driving range when it does because it doesn't drain very well. I am the kind of player that enjoys the warm up process, so if you are like I am, then pick a dry day. Overall though, its a great course. Greens are smooth yet challenging. Lots of forced carries and tight fairways.
FANTASTIC COURSE!!!
The conditions changed from warm to cold (and windy) so 2 of my 4-some cancelled.I had to eat the other two green fees. Is there any way to implement some type of credit system to avoid these situations?? I look forward to hearing from you.
Wilderness is an excellent, well-maintained course that is fun to play.
Wilderness is an excellent, well-maintained course with large, excellent greens. The bunkers are plentiful and well maintained. The setting is beautiful and the course is a delight to play. Hopefully, you can include this course on the daily specials E-mail that you send out.,
