About
Houston National Golf Club, located in the northwestern part of the city, definitely follows the old adage that "everything is bigger in Texas." This whopping course stretches to 7,337 yards from the back tees. It is a lengthy golf course no doubt, but it doesn't just favor those who can hit long. The layout has a unique links design, so long hitters will be pleased but they will have to be careful of the numerous pot bunkers and other strategically placed hazards waiting treacherously throughout. The golf course has an interesting character that sets it apart from others nearby thanks to a landscape of rolling hills and hardly any trees, a surprise since there is no shortage of trees in the area. Houston National Golf Club's wide-open links design also subjects golfers to the strong prevailing winds, making several of the holes especially tricky.

Worth it
The course is challenging , but fun. The greens, fairways, and tee box are all in great condition.

À Nice golf for a good price
Very friendly staff and people around.
It looked like you are in a family.
We asked for a golf bag and they gave it to us free of charge and every one there was so friendly.
On the course we changed to the other private golf and again some people told us we were wrong and told us the Wright way and again very friendly.
After the golf we went for a lunch and again like we were member of the family.
The only negativfremark was about the condition of the ground that was to dry but that is probably due to the weather conditions in the region I believe!

Great layout, horrible condition
Greens are in good shape, the rest of the course is in horrible shape. Hard, dirt patches everywhere. What a waste of what I'm sure was a decent course.

Greens really nice
It was my first time playing the course. The greens looked and rolled really good compared to other courses I’ve played throughout the month. I will definitely be playing here again.

great course but poorly managed
course needs work on fairways and managing.no starter ,no marshals ,and over crowded.

not worth the price
Course needs work. Fairways were in poor shape and greens were slow.

Does not honor posted rates
I booked a specific late in the day tee time on a Saturday primarily because the rate was posted at $20 lower than other times. I get to the course and am rudely told that the price is the price regardless of the time. The staff member refused to honor the golfnow price even after I showed him my golfnow reservation confirmation. I was forced to pay the higher price because if I didn’t i feared the club would charge my card anyways and I wouldn’t at least get the benefit of playing. Felt very taken advantage of. Course was ok value. Groups in front were slow and would not let me play through. No marshal to move things along. Overall negative experience.
