Sculpted by Greg Norman out of the tall grassland prairies and rice fields west of Houston, Meadowbrook Farms is part of a planned 800-acre residential development headed by Landmark National. Norman's layout includes deep-faced sod bunkers, Lil Prong Creek, and a multitude of oaks, pecans, and sycamores that take the golfer toward greens that are extremely hard.
The lack of parallel holes allows for an open, natural setting that is perfect for golf, especially since Norman didn't favor much reshaping-instead, he used the natural topography of the former rice farm.
Holes of note on the front are the 160-yard No. 6 and the 420-yard No. 9, both accented by the tall native grasses. No. 9 involves wetlands in front of the green, which is tough considering the longish approach.
Several holes on the back can destroy your round, including the narrow, doglegging 395-yard No. 10. It's imperative to find the fairway on this one. And No. 15 is short (340 yards), but is loaded with bunkers that are difficult for the high-handicapped hack.
The best hole of the bunch is perhaps No. 18, a 545-yarder that involves a layup of a canal off the tee and two solid shots to reach the green in regulation.
All told, this one is worth the investment. The bag drop service is friendly and prompt, and the clubhouse offers affordable amenities, including a great little bar and grill.
Getting there : From Downtown Houston on I-10, drive west to Grand Parkway (Hwy. 99). Take Grand Parkway south to Fry Rd., then turn right. Take Fry Rd. west for approximately 1.3 miles, and the entrance is on the left.

Poor Conditions & Overpriced
For the amount they charge for green fees, you’re better off going to a different course.
I should never see a course charging $75 - $100+ and the greens are in bad shape. Multiple greens have dead spots around the perimeter, all sorts of divot issues, and bad grass creeping in.
Tee boxes were mostly in poor condition, and multiple that are slanted.
Drainage isn’t great, even with the large ditch that runs through the course. So after yesterday’s rain, it was pretty muddy. Would probably take another day or two of no rain to dry up.
I will say that the recent bunker renovations were done really well, and if you enjoy Starbucks you can pickup a mobile order on hole 7.
Starters are usually friendly, but the clubhouse staff is usually not.
Great layout
The t boxes were somewhat rundown which I have never seen before. The greens were good but they have been better.
Great course and staff.
I found the entire staff to be very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was great as well as the course conditions. I really enjoyed the course layout as well as the practice facility very much. Overall great experience, I will definitely be back.
Great day
Really enjoyed the pace of play. Golf course is set up nicely. Lots of cool par 4's. Par 5's are tough to get to in 2. But set up for scoring.
Slow play
Marshall’s were out on the course but followed the wrong groups. Price was way too high for the condition. Could have played any course in the area for a better value.
Course in good shape
Course is in good shape overall, rough is fairly thick around the greens. Greens are still spotty and bare in places.

Good course but pricey
Played this course on 6/16/21.
Fairways - Best I have played on this year. Perfect lie each time
Greens - 15 of 18 green were either good or very good; 3 greens were fair (not sure it was left over issues from the freeze or what)
Value - $80+ for a mid-week (weds) is ridiculous. They also raised the senior age from 60 to 65 (why ?) I can play Cinco for almost 1/2 that.
Beverage cart - None ! It was 95 -98 degrees with 70% humidity - I can't believe that they don't have a beer cart during the week
19th hole - Friendly staff and decent food
I will probably go back but not for a while - Not worth the $$
Great fairways
Greens did not match the green free. Fairways and bunkers great greens not so great.
Golf course almost perfect
Layout is great, couple of greens need work but they are looking better.
Great Course
Played on Monday during the week and the pace was good. Course was in great condition as well and would recommend playing with the discounted rate
