Sculpted by Greg Norman out of the tall grassland prairies and rice fields west of Houston, Meadowbrook Farms is part of a planned 800-acre residential development headed by Landmark National. Norman's layout includes deep-faced sod bunkers, Lil Prong Creek, and a multitude of oaks, pecans, and sycamores that take the golfer toward greens that are extremely hard.
The lack of parallel holes allows for an open, natural setting that is perfect for golf, especially since Norman didn't favor much reshaping-instead, he used the natural topography of the former rice farm.
Holes of note on the front are the 160-yard No. 6 and the 420-yard No. 9, both accented by the tall native grasses. No. 9 involves wetlands in front of the green, which is tough considering the longish approach.
Several holes on the back can destroy your round, including the narrow, doglegging 395-yard No. 10. It's imperative to find the fairway on this one. And No. 15 is short (340 yards), but is loaded with bunkers that are difficult for the high-handicapped hack.
The best hole of the bunch is perhaps No. 18, a 545-yarder that involves a layup of a canal off the tee and two solid shots to reach the green in regulation.
All told, this one is worth the investment. The bag drop service is friendly and prompt, and the clubhouse offers affordable amenities, including a great little bar and grill.
Getting there : From Downtown Houston on I-10, drive west to Grand Parkway (Hwy. 99). Take Grand Parkway south to Fry Rd., then turn right. Take Fry Rd. west for approximately 1.3 miles, and the entrance is on the left.

Fun layout, greens are rolling, but overall condition is ok
Sure wish they would adhere to the 6ft social distancing. They only give you 1 cart for two people so one has to walk. Staff is always unpleasant, but overall the course is in ok shape, bunkers are being worked on so a lot of construction on the course. By this time next year it should be pretty nice. For the money right now there are many other courses you should be playing.
Nice course
Nice course, friendly staff (especially the starter and marshalls). Bunkers are under repair.
Course under construction
Bunkers are all being redone.
3 temp holes. Putting only.
Lots of new sod to avoid.
Price is too high for a course under renovation.
Greens are best in the area so far.
Golf at its finest
The improvements being done are going to make all the patrons very happy. Though this layout is under some construction. It in excellent shape. Great day of golf.
Meadow brook farm
I love the course and the layout. Starter put us on 10 first and we played 18 in 3 hours. My only beef was paying near full price when the bunkers are be rehabbed, one hole was played from the 150 yard make and one hole was “putt only”.
Terrible
They shouldn’t be charging full price when most of the holes are under renovation. Almost unplayable
Great golf course
Love this layout. Different conditions and challenges. When the construction is finished the course will be one of the best in the area. A personal favorite.
Good course maybe a little over priced
Most bunkers under renovation, greens in good shape, pace is slow.
Course is in good shape again. Fast greens. Bunkers being renovated but you shouldn’t be in them anyway! Fairly easy course with not many hazards coming in to play.
I expected a much nicer course for the cost of the green fees. Bunkers were unplayable even though it has not rained in two days. A fair value for a course in this condition should approximately $45.
Great Conditions
Course in very good shape considering winter. Green in very good conditions.
Cool day
First time here practice area was very nice from range to putting green. The putting green matched the speeds on the course. This helped me get a proper feel for the round. This being my first time I totally enjoyed my round today although it was a bit windy and cool the course conditions were very good. Fairways had good grass like it should no dead spots. Bunkers were a bit firm due to the rain the day before but that was just fine because I only found one for the entire round and still pulled off a par. I found the course to be Abit challenging due to the greens, they were smooth and fast a bit faster than I'm used to. But again course was in great shape I will return when the weather is a bit nicer .
Great course
The course is in great condition for this time of year. The greens were quick but putted good.
Challenging front 9
This is my 2nd time playing here, and the green condition is excellent. Pace of place is a bit slow. The staff is super nice and friendly. I will definitely come back for another round as I was totally wreck on the front 9, and crushed it on every hole on the back 9.

Surprisingly fantastic course!
I have heard about this course a few times, but never got around to actually playing it until a few days ago. It was a fantastic course! It was beautiful and challenging and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg to play there which is a recipe for success in my book!
