Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club
About
Sculpted by Greg Norman out of the tall grassland prairies and rice fields west of Houston, Meadowbrook Farms is part of a planned 800-acre residential development headed by Landmark National. Norman's layout includes deep-faced sod bunkers, Lil Prong Creek, and a multitude of oaks, pecans, and sycamores that take the golfer toward greens that are extremely hard.
The lack of parallel holes allows for an open, natural setting that is perfect for golf, especially since Norman didn't favor much reshaping-instead, he used the natural topography of the former rice farm.
Holes of note on the front are the 160-yard No. 6 and the 420-yard No. 9, both accented by the tall native grasses. No. 9 involves wetlands in front of the green, which is tough considering the longish approach.
Several holes on the back can destroy your round, including the narrow, doglegging 395-yard No. 10. It's imperative to find the fairway on this one. And No. 15 is short (340 yards), but is loaded with bunkers that are difficult for the high-handicapped hack.
The best hole of the bunch is perhaps No. 18, a 545-yarder that involves a layup of a canal off the tee and two solid shots to reach the green in regulation.
All told, this one is worth the investment. The bag drop service is friendly and prompt, and the clubhouse offers affordable amenities, including a great little bar and grill.
Getting there : From Downtown Houston on I-10, drive west to Grand Parkway (Hwy. 99). Take Grand Parkway south to Fry Rd., then turn right. Take Fry Rd. west for approximately 1.3 miles, and the entrance is on the left.

No drink carts
It was a long windy day & having someone out there to provide refreshments would have been much better. Staff in the pro shop were not friendly but at the tee shack he was very nice.
Could be a great course
The course was not in good shape. There has been a lot of rain recently in the area, but i have played other courses and none of them had problems like this course. The greens were blue, and so bare they rolled like a billiards table. The bunkers were nearly unplayable due to lack of sand. The upside: the staff was very friendly and helpful and the carts had very up to date GPS with locations of hazards, different parts of the green, etc. Overall this course could be great, but is in need of some serious maintenance. Not worth the $60.
Hot deal is reasonable but it turned out to be a cold day and few people on the golf course. Since it was a hot deal, couldn’t cancel. That’s a disadvantage.
Members do not allow guests to walk
Tee time terms do not tell you that the members have decided not to allow non-members to walk the course. We had no problem paying the full fee, just wanted to enjoy the walk. We were surprised when informed that we were not allowed. Will not play here again.
they didn't really want me there
The pro shop clerk asked if he could help me and I told him I thought I had an 11:48 tee time at which he told me that must be 11:58 as if I was stupid. Have never been talked down to by pro shop clerk before. I asked if I could walk at which point he told me it was a private course and the members choose to reserve the privilege of walking to themselves. Well excuse me. It's a nice course but there are plenty of nice courses in this price range or lower in Houston. I think I'll take my money in the future to a course where they might actually appreciate my being there.
Great course, good for weekend round
The course was in very good shape. They were overseeding the greens, but putts still rolled true. Not a demanding course, but you have to pick your spots to attack. Overall a very good course and I will be back
Course was in great shape. This is a course I often play and would recommend. Staff very friendly.
amenities
the course was good.
the beverage service was extremely poor. we were serviced on the 4th hole and on the 18th fairway.
the proshop staff was ambivalent to golf now players
Very Enjoyable Course
This is a very enjoyable course where good shots are rewarded. The con, at least as of right now, are the greens aren't in very good shape. Parts of some greens are terrible, and parts are very nice. I'm really not sure what's going on there. I'd say it's worth up to $52 to play here.

Thanks I was treated the same way as a golfnow purchaser. I do not understand why but it seems there are several course that use GolfNow seem to be a little upset and treat us a little different because we purchase it through a hot deal
