Teravista Golf Club
About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

worst fairway and sand traps in the U.S. No concern for pace of play!
I was a guest of a member. I am astounded the above are in such atrocious shape. I have never seen such lack of concern from a golf course for the traps. Most have no sand but hard dried dirt. The under lining is literally sticking up in many traps. I hit one and bent my club!! On top of that I have never seen a course like this where the clientele does not rake traps. Footprints all over them, worse than anywhere I ever played.
We got behind slow players sent messages called the pro shop. Their answer they sent out a generic message to all on the gps "please pick up play" which of course did nothing. The "Marshall" and I use that term very loosely, drove by we grabbed him, he said "yeah they are sending a message" and drove off, never to be seen again. We quit after 9 Told the pro he should be fired.
Wait 3 weeks. The greens were just punched.
I liked this course however I would recommend not playing it for about three weeks. The greens are in very poor condition right now because they just punched them and there's not enough sand so the greens are bad right now.
Also arrive a half hour early because they send people out 15 minutes before their tee time. That's a first!
Fun course, friendly members and staff!
The practice facilities are excellent. I showed up early and purchased a medium bucket (about 50 balls) for $5 so that was a great value. As I was hitting I was watching the clock so I didn't miss my time when the starter came up to ME and told me I had about 10 more minutes to hit, and introduced me to one of the members of the group I had been paired up with. I was then able to relax and hit balls until the starter came over and told me to head toward the tee. Any comment on the condition of the golf course should be given with the caveat that we are in a drought status. This course was in great shape, the greens had a great roll, were soft enough to stop a shot and were also FAST. I don't find fast greens so I was in hog heaven. They told me they are going to aerify next week so I got there at just the right time. I probably won't go back for a couple of weeks until the greens recover from being punched, but I will return to this Round Rock gem. Pace of play was excellent as well. We had to wait twice on par 3s, but that was about it. We also did not have anyone hitting at our heels either.
This course is in great shape with wonderful greens
My second time to play the course and it doesn't disappoint.
The greens are a bit fast but roll true. I played from whites, and I'm sure blues would be quite challenging.
Great Course
We got a great deal at 1/3 the regular price. We started right at 5:15 and were able to finish before the sun set at about 8:40. We could have finished earlier if there hadn't been a foursome that obviously hasn't been watching the golf channel this month (its fast play month). The Course was in good shape, especially considering there was a huge rain storm early that morning. They must have some serious drainage system set up. The staff was super friendly all the way from the guy behind the front desk to the cart girl. Some really beautiful holes. Nothing overly challenging but nothing simple either. the sand was sandy (though a little damp due to the rain), the greens were fast, the fairways were healthy but not too long, the tee boxes were level and lush, OH!!! and the carts have GPS that tells you how far you are from the green and any hazards. My buddy dropped his range finder on one hole, called the front desk, and within minutes he got a message on his GPS screen saying they found it and they were bringing it out to him . . . pretty cool. This is one of the nicest but also one of the priciest places around. With that said, its one of the few that i might actually pay full price to play again. Great course with even better staff, would highly recommend. Cheers!!!!
Fun course, front 9 much easier than back
Good condition, we had a 927 tee time on a Sunday and played in 4 hours , back 9 much harder. Fun holes and great staff
in good shape
Fairway and greens in good condition a good chalange with a variety of hole yardage to play and shots to select
This is a great layout.
This course is getting better, they are doing a better job with the greens, the bunkers could use some TLC.
My go to course
Due to the location and the playability of this course, I find myself playing it 1-2 times a month. It is where I play when I just want to get out and play a round. The course is well maintained and is fun to play without being overly challenging.
Course is in excellent shape
The course is well manicured and the pace of play was good. It's a fair layout but not really for the novice player. There a several holes which require precise approach shots or you'll lose a golf ball
This course is well managed
Totally good shaped and well managed course and not far from residential area. Practice range is also good and dinini ng hall is awsome !
Just okay.
Fairways were green and a bit firm - played fast. Sand traps were terrible - no sand packed clay. Greens were alright but players/members are not repairing ball marks thus dead spots. Tees weren't level and it reduced teeing options. Course layout is very interesting and fun to play.
great course very fun time
Great time very nice course will play again great value
Great way to spend the day.
This was my second time to play the course here at TeraVista and it was great. From the practice facilities to the greens every thing is in great shape. This is a moderately easy course as the fairways are wide but the greens have some undulation that requires a steady hand and a good eye to see the breaks. Golf Now has some great deals on this course and I would highly recommend taking advantage of the price.
The carts have GPS included along with a ball and club washer if needed. I would love to play this course more in the future.
The greens were slow and spotty
When this course is in good shape it's as fun to play as any in town. The course design has lots of character and there's only one hole that's impacted poorly from the homes thy run along it. (The Par 5, 5ths holes tee shot is ridiculously hard because of the way the landing are scrunches in from the homes on the right. The greens were long, bumpy, and slow. They had been punched WEEKS ago and they just stunk! But the staff was friendly as all get out, the range and practice are are awesome!
the course is in great shape
The course is in great shape. Fairways are great and the greens roll true. Greens normally at a 9-10 on the stint..they were rolling at about a 7-8 it seemed. Pace of play was great. 40-33 from the blues.
not good
the programing between player is to short, I don`t like it
Great
Great course and challeging. Would recommend the course to a friemd
Bunkers needed work
The greens were a bit slow and the bunkers needed serious work. For $70 Saturday play, the greenskeeper needs to be attending every inch of that course. That's when your money is being made!
Teravista will give you all you can handle....and more.
Like a challenge of target golf & not just swinging for the fences each tee shot then Teravista is the place. Played from the blue tees (6600+ yds) & it's not the length so much as you need to avoid the many fairway bunkers on almost every hole. Good mix of doglegs & forced carries to make you plan for 2nd shot while hitting the 1st. Par 3's are long & guarded so accuracy is a must. Par 5's are long & tough. Water comes into play on alot of holes as well. Greens were in great shape and rolled very true. Was able to play with a Golfnow Hot Deal and it was well worth it as this is a high-end daily fee course. Carts had GPS, staff got me out ahead of my tee time and the course was in top shape.
