About
Legacy Hills Golf Club opened in fall 1996 and immediately gained the respect of the central Texas golf community. Designed by Greg Cash and Billy Casper, the course blends in beautifully with the natural terrain, featuring rolling hills, old oak trees, ravines, and numerous elevation changes, both in the fairway and on the greens.
Berry Creek runs through the layout, and is integral to the signature par-5 18th hole, where you'll have two options off the tee. One side offers the more conservative lay-up, while the other option involves clearing the creek but gives you the chance to get home in two on this 520-yard hole. Fairway bunkers loom ominously, and the long green is extremely prone to a three-jack.
Before you get to that one, though, two par 3s stand out on each side. No. 4 plays 171 yards into a pond and a rock-guarded, three-tiered green. No. 16 goes 216 yards into another multi-level green guarded by water and sand on the right.
Legacy Hills Golf Club's ninth hole rivals the 18th as the signature -- it plays 357 yards uphill, with a creek along the left and fairway bunkers waiting for your tee shot. The approach involves a waterfall, but it's actually more scenic that it is difficult since a good drive leaves you with a short iron in.

No Shotgun
Good course, have played it a number of times...should’ve guessed there would be a shotgun start based on the tee time availability. That’s something to avoid in my opinion
Slowest round of golf I have ever played.
Teed off at 3, finished 9 holes at 5:30.. 2 1/2 hours for only 9 holes! Waited forever on every hole. Quit after 9. No Marshal in sight, no explanation tor the ridiculous slow play. It never speeded up.

Glen Clay is very rude
I will be calling in to speak with his supervisor but it says carts in at sunset and this guy drives up to us on hole 17 and very rudely says carts have to be in 5 minutes you can't play anymore. Well it wasn't even sunset yet!!! The group in front of us was rudely kicked off too and I only know this rude staff name because the other guy asked. I cannot believe how rude staff are to customers at these sun city courses. Especially if your not a member. By the way, Charlotte is awesome just be careful with Glen Clay.

Great course
I love this course and normally the pace of play is okay, but today it was really slow, even on the back nine. The Marshal should enforce time to search for your ball, so people not spending 15 min. looking for a ball

Nice layout but not peak conditions
Played course over a dozen times. Fairways overly firm to where lots of shots are struck thin cause ground is hard. Can tell this is due to heavy cart traffic and needs punching. Greens are firm and fast. Always a nice layout. Crowded today, but most people are seniors and quit after 9 holes. Tee areas and bunkers are pretty good. Winter dormant. Expecting it to come back to it's old self in the spring, especially if punched and aerated.

Best Course year round
I have played this course many times over the last 10 years more than 20 times and I have never been disappointed with its condition and its facilities. The driving range is well designed with good targets for warming up before a round or just to work on your swing game. Staff are friendly and helpful, and I like the free range balls. Greens and fairways can be a little tricky, but they are always in prime condition year-round. You will enjoy some difficult hole layouts as well as some of the best views of par 4s and 5s in the Hill Country around Georgetown. Top notch for Austin area public courses. Enjoy yourself.

Some slow play
Had a 2 pm tee time & could only manage 14 holes before carts were called in at 5:24. Play was too slow until about hole 8, marshals began asking slower foursomes to play faster as a courtesy. There was some
issues with my playing group and I had to find a twosome two holes up to play the course. Not handled smoothly. No issues with the course, as always, in great shape. I appreciate the free practice balls for their very satisfactory driving range.

not even close to worth it for dealing with staff
the whole complex of sun city that holds, legacy hills, white wing and cowan creek golf courses are not even close to worth it for dealing with the way the staff treats you. no one is respectful, very condescending, unaccomadating. they even tried to send me to a different golf course then allow me to fall one group behind because of a 5 min delay. I ended up leaving, not being able to play because they wanted me to wait 5 hours instead of trying their best to help make things right. the course may be in good shape but it is not worth the way this complex treats its golfers.

Pristine greens.
All the tee boxes were in good condition but not excellent. All greens were excellent. Most of the fairways were good but many places where under watered so brown grass. Luckily I was on in one of these areas the whole round. Overall the course is in good condition. If the fairways were not so dry and brown on most of them then I would say the course is excellent.

Greens good, fairways are fast due to no rain definitely extra yards but overall nice course.

Greens Roll Well
The greens and tee boxes were in great shape but the fairways were toasted. I hadn't been to the course in over a year and there are areas that need attention. The layout is good and I hope they get it back to tip top shape.

Like the course but the staff is another story!
My wife and I like to drive into town to play this course, mainly because we can go into Georgetown afterwards for food/drink. Out of the 3 options this is the friendliest course. The staff is another thing all together. The attitude seems like if you're not a resident then we are doing you a favor even allowing you in the pro shop!
