Olympia Hills Golf Course
About
Olympia Hills Golf Course is very exciting and enhances San Antonio's reputation as a golf destination. A unique combination of natural topography and man-made mounds and bunkers make this a super course. Native South Texas vegetation and golf course grass seed formulations on fairways and greens will provide state-of-the-game playing surfaces. The views are spectacular, with several holes playing to greens well below the tees, while other lead to a significant rise to reach the putting surface. Fairways, which on some holes are tight, are often sloped and guarded by bunkers. The tips will not be played by the faint hearted, but with four sets of tee boxes, the course can be enjoyed by all levels of players.

Pace of play
I rated the pace of play a 5 however, my group had to play through a group in front of us that had 6. I would request attention to course management, in that regard for future players. Thank you.
POOR CONDITION
First of all, there is NO grass on the greens. So putting downhill only allows the ball to roll forever. The fairway grass is also minimal. Had to hit off of clay. Lastly, the pace of play is exceptionally SLOW. There were 6 groups trying to play 2 holes - One on the tee box, one in the fairway, another on the green and the same setup on the following hole. The Marshall is a waste. Does not require groups to maintain a solid pace, so that we can this many groups waiting to play. NOT the first time pace is so slow.
Matt Lowry
My favorite course for the money in the San Antonio area.
Going downhil
The courses condition is in a decline unfortunately.
Great layout poor conditions
This layout is really really good but the conditions were very very poor. I heard many excuses from people at the course but I can tell you I have never played a tract that was n need of a cash nfusion to get it to acceptable.
Pace
Took us 6 hours to play 18 holes. Tee’d off at 11:56. Had drunk teenagers behind us. By the 15th hole they started heckling us and being obnoxious. Even hitting their balls while we were hitting our 2nd shot. Confronted them on the 18th hole but they took off. Never going back when you got teenagers aloud to get drunk and harass us golfers who take the game seriously. I don’t care how good the course is. Plus no Course Marshal to be found to report them to.
Winter golf
Course was definitely in winter condition. Ground very hard and required different clubs almost impossible to take a divet. Greens ok but some week grass. Still recommend the course for this time of year but be prepared for a not perfect condition
Greens need HELP
This is one of my favorite courses but this time I was really disappointed in the greens. I do not know if the last freeze damaged them or what the problem is but they are thin and hard. Hopefully, they can get them in shape soon otherwise I'll be playing somewhere else. There are plenty of choices in San Antonio to play but I really hope they can rectify the problem quickly.
Course Needs Work
Greens need work, grass is dying with bare spots. Course appears to need aeration and fertilizer. Carts could be car path only to let grass reuperate.
Dry as a bone
GolfNow doubles down on reviews. See previous comments. I will add that # 8 is a brutal tee shot into the wind. Par 5 but the set up makes you push or fade tee shots into the woods. I imagine that in the springtime, once rains have greened the course up, it’s a gorgeous hole to look upon from tee box on # 2. After the front nine kicked my butt, I was ready to retire.
Only wish green's were in a little better shape.
Thought they were a little rough
Disappointed,
Several years ago I played it once a week. Haven't played for 4 years since we moved out of the area and I was very disappointed in the condition of the course, especially the greens. It's now badly over priced.
What happened to the greens and bunkers?
I have played the course before and enjoyed the layout. Thought it was one of the nicer public course in the area.
I know it's winter time but the greens were in terrible condition. Most were like hard packed mud. And the bunkers had very little sand and a lot of rocks.
