ShadowGlen Golf Club

I’ve been playing here for YEARS, I remember when they lost the greens years ago and it was so sad. This is maybe my 5th round at ShadowGlen in 2023 so far and this is the best shape. Tee boxes, fairways, greens are all flawless. Bunkers could use lots of love and prob more sand, but maybe I shouldn’t hit in the bunkers anyway right?

Thick layer of sand on all but maybe 2 greens. Didn’t see a sign in the clubhouse. No warning at check in. Couldn’t putt at all. Good course but I would recommend once the sand is gone from the greens

This was not a fun course, we definitely will not go back. The fairways looked like egg cartons, just constant hills right in the middle of the fairway. The sand traps were really just dirt. The bridges you drive the carts over were falling apart and cracking constantly as you drive over them. It was just an accident waiting to happen. We really felt nervous driving over these bridges on several holes. It seemed they had not been maintained at all. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because the staff was very friendly. There were also no bathrooms outside of the clubhouse, which would have been nice to know when you are drinking tons of water because it's over 100.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, Richard did a great job taking care of me and my wife. I made a mistake but they didn’t try to get me for it, they made sure I was taking care of. The course was very okay but it’s been 104 degrees the last three weeks so it’s understandable.

I’ve played shadowglen a number of times and enjoyed it. However, this time was a real let down.

Planned a tee time with some friends. We show up and the 4th guy who we were paired with decided to tee off before us and just took off. No starter. For the rest of the round, he was between us and a foursome which led to us waiting on each tee box for about 15-20 minutes. Marshall didn’t seem to care. It was obviously hot out, no cart girl on the whole back 9 and the few water coolers were empty or almost empty. When we got beer at the turn, they were room temperature and we had to trade them in at the end. Just not a great experience for 70 bucks a person.

The food cart do not run after 3pm and their "drive thru" for food pickup after 9th hole is closed too which I thought this was ridiculous since we played on busy Sunday. Their amenities around the course has lack of ball washer and they did not fill up the sand filler on our golf cart when we pick up so therefore we ran out of sand at the mid round. Everything else are great and love the course layout.

The good: Lots of fun. Challenging but accessible. Great clubhouse and friendly staff. Will return. The ehh: Stricter cart sharing rules than I’m used to (first time I’ve been made to share a cart with a stranger in years). The photos make the course look much more serene and secluded than it is — not a deal-breaker but plenty of holes where you need to be conscious of houses or a roadway.
