About
Located just 15 minutes northeast of downtown Austin, ShadowGlen Golf Course is considered by locals to be one of the area's hidden gems. At 7,174 yards from the back tees, it is a long, tough course that will test even the most seasoned players. Some consider it to be the most difficult public golf course in Texas. The layout has a links design that is mostly flat but there are a few hilly spots that can cause some trouble, especially the holes that were designed with steep drops. The narrow fairways require accuracy and the well manicured greens play fast and are often bordered by strategically placed bunkers or contoured mounding. There are also water hazards coming into play throughout, including the wandering creek that cuts across the golf course.

Price does not match course conditions. I would come back here, but only if conditions significantly improve
Great layout. Greens and fairways need some love
Amazing layout. I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed the way this course played from a layout perspective.
But, it took 3 hours to play the back 9. That’s not my biggest frustration though
The fairways looked like rough. They were LONG. Like, your ball wouldn’t roll if you hit a good drive long. And the greens weren’t in great shape.
I’m definitely coming back, but I hope they mow the fairways next time
A little pricey
Played here for 8 years, love the staff and the course layout. Will return, but for beginning of season golf with the greens having weeds, $80 seems steep. Good news is the course and greens aren’t dried out.
More perks for the money
For the high fee they charge they need more perks. There are no restrooms on course, no GPS in carts and serious lack of yardage markers, and course could be in better shape.
OVERGROWN
Tee box's are over grown with grass ans so are the fairway's. This is a problem as the grass is very sticky and grabs the clubs. It's been like this for at least 2 weeks now if not longer.
Greens are in great condition and roll very nicely.

Course has some great holes, especially the back 9. Great value. Would highly recommend it!
Course Conditions, Windy.
Course Conditions were great. Holes challenging with tricky green speeds (not as fast as they look). I got to practice my low, straight punch shots through the wind from the tee box and longer irons on approach shots.
Shadust Glen
Way way overhyped. I feel taken advantage of after paying $125 for a round, large bucket, two beers and a hot dog. Tee boxes are torn up there are weeds and trash everywhere once you get off the fairways, no yardage markers, and No marshalls. If I was having my bachelor party this place would be Perfect
Bad golfers
Played on a Friday week of SXSW course was in great shape. Had no problem with the price simply because all the fairways and tee boxes had real green grass. The course had some groups playing in front of me that simply shouldn’t of been on the course. The staff handled it pretty well. It’s a shame that this group throws a fit and complains about unprofessional staff members when that group does not respect the course and their policy’s. I had to hop on and defend this great course and staff.
