About
Hutto’s been put on the golf map now that the first-class Star Ranch has opened up on what was once a cattle ranch, boasting a unique collaborative effort from the Morrish brothers (Jay and Carter) and the Bechtol, Russell design firm.
The course sits on a hill and is built around a centralized lake, featuring the typical spectacular Hill Country topography highlighted by plush, undulating fairways and bleached white sand bunkers.
No. 2 is one of the most difficult holes and the first real challenge of your golf day. The 417-yard par 4 has more of an open feel than some of the other holes, but it’s length generally means a rather long approach, and the green is surrounded by several massive bunkers.
Getting there : From Austin, take I-35 north and exit Parmer Ln. Turn right and go east on Parmer to Dessau Rd. Turn left and go north on Dessau, which becomes FM 685. Go 5 miles past FM 1825 in Pflugerville and the club is on the left.

COURSE IS WELL MANICURED
THIS COURSE IS WELL MANAGED & FUN TO PLAY. STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY.
Outstanding value and condition
Tee to green exceptionally well maintained. First class practice facilities. Friendly staff. I will make this a regular in my rotation.
Always Good
I have been playing here for about a year. Every visit, the course has been in great shape. Staff is friendly. Pace of play is good. Very easy to hit the fairways. Greens are moderate fast with some undulation/tilt. Unless you play from a set of tees to far back for your game, you should be able to hit good shots for the most part.
Course in Great Shape
First time out here, played with my wife who is a beginner. From the tour tees it was challenging, especially in the 15-20 mph wind that I faced. My wife played from the front tees and really enjoyed the course. She shot a personal best 98, and had a blast.

Very nice to be able to go play golf and you feel safe. All safety measures in place and pace of play was great. Will definitely be back.
Good shape good time
While this course can be windy at times, it just adds to the level of play needed to navigate the course. The greens were in good shape as were the fairways and the undulating greens and moguls in the fairways also are a welcomed dimension to how the course plays. Good value good staff good time.
They are doing the Best that they can
The Star Ranch golf course is doing their absolute best to make a currently intolerable situation very tolerable with the whole Corona Virus panic. Give these folks your business.

The staff was great talking us through the procedures in place due to corona virus. All the grass was well maintained. The course looks and plays as good as ever.
Awesome Day During Trying Times
Having to stay home and local courses being closed it was awesome to have an opportunity to play a round of golf at Start Ranch. The staff was efficient in how they handled the one person to a cart set up. The way they dealt with handling the virus situation but still allowing me to get outside and enjoy a round of golf was very appreciated. Their effort made my have an enjoyable day.
