About
Located just 15 minutes northeast of downtown Austin, ShadowGlen Golf Course is considered by locals to be one of the area's hidden gems. At 7,174 yards from the back tees, it is a long, tough course that will test even the most seasoned players. Some consider it to be the most difficult public golf course in Texas. The layout has a links design that is mostly flat but there are a few hilly spots that can cause some trouble, especially the holes that were designed with steep drops. The narrow fairways require accuracy and the well manicured greens play fast and are often bordered by strategically placed bunkers or contoured mounding. There are also water hazards coming into play throughout, including the wandering creek that cuts across the golf course.

What’s With The Trump Flag?
Between the still impossible back 9 and the Trump flag I will spend my golf dollars elsewhere.
Really Nice Course
Really great course for the cost. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the back nine layout. Very scenic with all the different elevations.

Exceptional staff
I've played golf all over the world. I've been treated well at most of the courses I've played and seldom had a negative experience. This course has the nicest staff I have ever interacted with. The shop staff starter and cart attendant were second to none the best. Joe the starter might be the nicest human I've ver met.
The course was a great value. We played it out of season so the rough was dormant. I would love to play it during peak time. It was fun and challenging. Highly recommend.
Nice fairways and great greens
The golf bag receptionist in the backdrop zone brought the cart to my car and gave me a free practice ball ticket. On arrival, it was a pleasant service. The fairway seemed to need water, but it was managed, and the green was in excellent condition. The bunker was also managed with soft sand. There were challenging holes, and the difficulty level of the green was rather difficult. It is not an easy course for those who have difficulty walking because there are holes with limited access to the cart. This is the most satisfying Texas golf in recent years.
Nice course!
Hadn’t played here in years, has a little more to offer via challenges than the Austin munis. We played through a couple groups for a sub 4 hour round, would recommend!
Best condition I have seen it in
Played on new years. $60 hot deal at 10 am. (They let me out early by myself) Greens were in the best condition I have seen at Shadowglenn. (used to be a member) course was very green. Played 18 holes in. 2 hours and 30 mins. Only 1 other group on the course. It’s back on my list to frequently head to.
Gem just outside of Austin
Haven’t played much golf in ATX, but went to sneak a round in after landing at the airport.
Called the pro shop and had a few asks that were met with easy yes’s and no problems. Ian and Marshall were awesome and super helpful.
Course was in great shape, greens were rolling pure and fairways well maintained.
Would definitely play here again the next time I am in ATX.
Fairways and Greens good conditions. Odd that the groundkeepers where spreading fertilize and watering tee boxes so late in the morning.

Great course just played this morning love the elevation changes. It is a pretty challenging course but it’s taken care of well. Only thing was this morning when I played the tee boxes really need cut
