Teravista Golf Club
About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Good course great vaue
Course conditions are good, pace of play was faster than most others around the area
Love how things are under new ownership
Excellent course conditions given the time of year. I wish the beverage cart person would be better about stopping and waiting for a minute to confirm with the entire group that no one wants anything. We saw her twice and both times I would’ve gotten something, but she drove off while I was in the middle of a swing without even really stopping and slowing down to ask us.
Just makes me sad
I’ve been playing this course for years and it’s just sad to see what it seems to have turned into. Listen to the previous reviews… tee times are 8 minutes apart, and pace of play is hands down the worst across the decent courses in Austin. We teed off at 1:36 on a beautiful sunny Monday. Course is in solid shape. Excited for the round even though I prepaid for a buddy who couldn’t make it and was denied a refund or a reschedule. Corporate policy, I get it, sure. Still excited for the round. Then three hours later we’re waiting to tee off on 10. Time stamped. I gave the pro shop a polite ring to see if the Marshall was out to try and speed things up. Was told they’d send someone to ‘see what was going on’. Later saw 12 people on a tee box and realized that call was hopeless. 2 hours later the sun sets and we drive to the clubhouse after just finishing 16. The parking lot was overflowing when I initially pulled in some 6 hours before. I had done three laps, no spots (maybe that’s a sign you’re overbooking), so I parked alongside a handful of others who made spots for themselves out of the way. Anyways I go to unload my clubs and someone (I really hope not an employee) left a note on my car.. “Nice Parking!”. Lol. Can’t help it. I don’t like leaving bad reviews ever but this feels so so necessary. Idk if it’s the new Hanlim owners or if it’s always been a bit like this, but management needs to figure it out. Hopefully Avery and Falcon aren’t the same. Plenty of better options than Teravista right now. Thank god I played in the afternoon and didn’t spend twice as much on a 6 hour round in the morning. Gotta do better as a business guys… hope I can happily go back one day
Rip off
Would recommend playing anyone playing or wasting money at this course.
Worse central Texas course I've ever played
Over priced, booked online and was never alerted to a first delay. I mean it was 40 degrees. That doesn't warrant a frost delay. I paid for 18 and they also charged for my 14yr daughter to ride along and take pics. Then made it aware that carts had to be back by 5pm. They pushed my tee time till 2, 1 hr late. No way I was getting 18 in yet didn't offer a refund of any kind. On top of it even at that time of day they were pushing 8 minute tee times and throwing people out I n the front and back 9. 3 groups lined up at every tee box. Played 2-1/2 hrs and didn't get thru 6 holes before I walked off. I w I ll never golf that course again and would strongly advise anyone else to avoid the place. They are there ripping people off. It would have been 0 stars across the board. No ranger to even pace the play.
Good Course Painful Pace of Play
Teravista Golf Club is a beautiful facility with a challenging and enjoyable layout. The course conditions are consistently very good, with well-maintained fairways and greens that roll true. It's a truly scenic and fun track to play... if you have all day.
The overwhelming downside is the extremely slow pace of play. Be prepared for a frustratingly long round, as 5-hour or even 5.5-hour rounds appear to be the norm, especially on weekends and peak times. The course seems to book tee times too closely together, making for constant waits on nearly every shot. While the physical course is top-notch, the agonizing crawl of the round severely diminishes the overall experience. Go early or be ready for a test of patience.
Play early in the day
Staff is great. I just can’t love this course with 8 minutes tee time intervals. We played at 745am on a Sunday and finished in a respectable 4 hrs 20 minutes. Could have been quicker but 2 groups ahead of us slowed down the pace, with the marshal mentioning they were over a hole behind. If you play late morning or afternoon, you’re in for a 5 1/2+ hr round. EVERY TIME. Course was in great condition, feel it’s a little overpriced but it is what it is nowadays. Plenty of other options if you’re willing to travel within an hour of Austin for courses that are just as nice but half the cost
