About
Heritage Ranch serves up an especially challenging par 72, 6,988-yard Arthur Hills design that rolls through the oaks and pecans just outside of Fairview. And while it’s part of a gated, active-adult residential community, the course is open to the public and especially fun because it integrates well with the neighborhood. Houses line some fairways, but a fair number of holes provide that natural, rural feel that is always so welcome on a golf course.
While the course is not particularly demanding off the tees, the real challenge at Heritage Ranch comes from the mound-shaped greens. If your irons aren’t dialed in, you’ll be working hard for ups and downs.
No. 1 is a unique opener because it bends left down to a fairway and green that aren’t visible from the tee. Big drives can get close, but the recommended play is to take a long iron and draw it over the hill.
The par 5s on the front are nice holes. No. 3 doglegs right and requires a good tee shot, followed by a relatively easy second shot into a widening fairway toward the hole. The trick is nailing the short iron (almost a blind shot) into the elevated green guarded by bunkers on the front. No. 7 is longer and offers a good chance for birdie, again because of its wide-open nature.
No. 16 is the signature hole: a par 3 masterpiece that plays along a natural spring waterfall. You’ll need to nail a long iron over the valley and avoid the trees that overhang the fairway from the right.
No. 18 is a good finisher–it’s a long par 4 that doglegs left around a few large fairway bunkers, then works its way uphill to an elevated, mound-shaped green surrounded by bunkers. Ups and downs are possible here if you miss the green back left, which is easy to do when you approach with a fairway wood.
Getting there : Only 20 miles northeast of Dallas, take I-75 north to the Stacy Road exit, then turn right and drive to the dead end. The road jogs to the left, then right, and continues as Stacy Road. The entrance is 2 miles down on the left.

Great course but they don’t know how to run it
We teed off early and we’re behind a group of 6 (no clue why that was allowed) but they were taking forever so we slowed our pace down to stop from waiting on them. Then the course marshal stopped us at the turn and told us we were a full behind pace. So he rushed us thru 10 only to have us waiting for the group of 6 to tee off each of the last 9 wholes.
Course Conditions
Heritage Ranch is in great shape. Well worth the money. Greens are rolling smooth
The course is in fantastic condition. The atmosphere is a little clubbish if you are not a member, but nothing that affects the golf.
Beautiful Course
Really enjoyed the course. My only issue was with the extreme heat there is no water at some of the tee boxes, no Marshall’s running around the course with water like many other courses and the cart didn’t come around very often. Next time, I’m definitely bringing a cooler with lots of water.

Love this course. One of the best in the area. Great layout. Lots of tee box options. Greens and tee boxes in great shape.
Great course and conditions.
Course was in great shape and played well throughout. Pricing was better then courses nearby that charge more. Tough greens. Great fairways. New to this state and area so I renewed my GHIN here as well for a quick and seemless process. I'll be back soon!
Great Course - with a Marshall needed!
Great course - friendly staff - course conditions were spot on. However, you need a Marshall to keep the slower groups moving. We had (4) in our group and had to wait on a 3 some on “every” hole.
Everything else was spot on from the chipping area to the driving range.
Great Course
Well maintained and fun layout. First time to see if we want to play again when family is in town. The answer is yes.

The Best Public Course in North DFW
100% the top course I have played in north DFW. The course is always pristine. Greens roll true. Scenery is amazing.
Even with rain the course conditions still held up very well. I’m about a 10-15 handicap playing from the tips - great challenge for those of us who want to play a long, winding course. Deceivingly long from the back tees.
My only issue was the 12th hole didn’t have a flag, not sure what happened there, but it ended up adding an extra stroke to my score card since I was just aiming at the miss on that hole.
Overall, always excellent - will come back here many, many times!
