Old Brickyard Golf Course
About
Some argue that the tricked-up golf course has no place in today’s game, but they might change their mind after visiting the eclectic Old Brickyard. As the name implies, the course lays out in and around an old brickyard, featuring dramatic elevation changes, blind shots, and some unbelievable, almost impossible holes. This is one you’ll want to play just to say you’ve seen it.
The opening holes are pretty basic as you traverse northward before turning into the meat of the course, where the dramatic elevation changes start wreaking havoc on your club selection. After about the third or fourth hole, every hole seems to have some unique feature.
The Old Brickyard Lake comes into play on holes 9-11, some of the most difficult holes you’ll find anywhere. After you limp homeward suffering near-disasters on the tricky par 3 No. 8, which plays over water and seems to drop about 5 stories, and the demented 9th hole, which features a funky tee shot and challenging approach over water to a difficult green, No. 10 is not a welcome sight. Hole 10 plays from an elevated tee box, with water along the right. Water comes into play on the next two shots as well, since it cuts across the dogleg-right fairway. If you’re struggling, this is a double-digit hole for sure.
There’s no real break after No. 10, either. The 13th requires a precision short iron to a tiered green. More surprises await as you finish the round, so be prepared. The yard is a fun day of golf.
Getting there : Take I-45 south from Dallas to Ferris, then exit 267 and continue down the access road to the entrance on the right.

Very, Very Challenging Hole Photo submitted by fryersroost on 05/08/2013
Golfer Reviews
Short Challenge
The pro shop staff was very friendly and warned me ahead of my round that the course has several blind shots. The driving range is mediocre at best and the practice green was awful. Being outside the DFW area this course typically only sees regulars throughout the week so not as much golf is played. Every hole has elevation changes weather it be tee, fairway, or green. 7 of the front nine greens were attacked by poanna so putting was difficult to get a true read. However with all this being said I would recommend this to any golfer that is working on shot shaping or elevated shots.
Crazy (Blind) Layout, Incredibly Slow
Perhaps one of the most ridiculous layouts I’ve ever played. Numerous blind tee and fairway approach shots, completely lost off fairway unfair would be generous. Not well maintained and no sand but rain has kept greens in nice shape. It’s what you should expect for an out of town $45 course. I personally won’t play again bc it takes 5-6 hrs on a weekend - and we teed off at 8:15 am!!!!! No course Marshall or Mgmt on players - that would cost money 🤣. Pass

Course was in Great shape, couldn't ask for more! The Price was right! Will continue to come back!
Challenging course
Very challenging course with several blind tee shots that if your tee shots are not placed in the right spots you can easily go from a birdie to a double bogey.Brought a friend who was very skeptical about the course. He was used to playing the flat courses in fort Worth. He lost 6 balls and quit keeping his score on the back 9.He said he would be back to play the course again.
Course was in decent shape (doesn’t drain well) but pace of play was terrible. It’s also definitely unique compared to other tracks in the area. If you don’t hit a good shot, you will be severely penalized for the most part. Even good shots will penalize you sometimes lol. Challenging but fun track, definitely worth a go.
Course Conditions are EPIC!
From tee box to green the course was in immaculate shape. I've played her 3or4 times over the last few years and I've always enjoyed it. But this past Sunday was spectacular! Tee boxes, fairways and greens were absolutely dialed in! The only bad thing was I couldn't blame the course on my less than stellar score. Play this course, you will not be disappointed!
A little slow
The pace was slow took 5 hours to play 18. Multiple twosomes that could not move due to pace of p,at of one foursome. No Marshall to tell them to pick up the pace.
Saw cart girl only once and that was on hole 10 after we stopped at the turn.
Only found water at one station and it was a hot no breeze to speak of day.
I did like the course but they need to work on pace and water availability on the course.
Solid course, good value
Course was in good condition. Greens were firm, a little slow, & predictable. Great value. Pace of play was a little slow on the back. Fun course that I will play again.
