Some argue that the tricked-up golf course has no place in today’s game, but they might change their mind after visiting the eclectic Old Brickyard. As the name implies, the course lays out in and around an old brickyard, featuring dramatic elevation changes, blind shots, and some unbelievable, almost impossible holes. This is one you’ll want to play just to say you’ve seen it.
The opening holes are pretty basic as you traverse northward before turning into the meat of the course, where the dramatic elevation changes start wreaking havoc on your club selection. After about the third or fourth hole, every hole seems to have some unique feature.
The Old Brickyard Lake comes into play on holes 9-11, some of the most difficult holes you’ll find anywhere. After you limp homeward suffering near-disasters on the tricky par 3 No. 8, which plays over water and seems to drop about 5 stories, and the demented 9th hole, which features a funky tee shot and challenging approach over water to a difficult green, No. 10 is not a welcome sight. Hole 10 plays from an elevated tee box, with water along the right. Water comes into play on the next two shots as well, since it cuts across the dogleg-right fairway. If you’re struggling, this is a double-digit hole for sure.
There’s no real break after No. 10, either. The 13th requires a precision short iron to a tiered green. More surprises await as you finish the round, so be prepared. The yard is a fun day of golf.
Getting there : Take I-45 south from Dallas to Ferris, then exit 267 and continue down the access road to the entrance on the right.

Brickyard
For your money this course is awesome! And the layout is good and unique. I’ll play here again. Greens aren’t the best compared to some of the more pricey courses but still clean. Good fairways. Just a fun course for the price point

i encountered wasnt friendly, can tell this used to be a premier course but the lack of maintenance (due to funding im sure) kept it from being 5 stars. on this great of a layout, i would expect fast greens, but no……
Bad course
Bad course and to make it worse they over booked it. Staff was rude. Left at the turn. Save your time and money
Great Course Conditions
The tee boxes, fairways, and greens are in immaculate condition right now. Definitely will be coming back!
Challenging Course
Very unique course. Multiple elevated tee boxes and lots of hills. Several challenging holes unlike any other course in DFW
Tough Course
Fathers Day made for a busy day and some slow play.
Hard course
This course is fun to play, it’s tough but I am not a great golfer. Slow play, we ran about an hour over, the group in front of us was slow. Some greens in rough shape, but overall nice.
Needs some love
Greens took a hit this winter. Even with the rain and good growing temps they are still not back to where they used to be. Caught a Hot Deal on GolfNow for under $30 so I wasn’t too upset.
Untapped potential.
A good course but poorly maintained. Bunkers were mud and dirt, barely any sand. Ant hills all over the course and crab grass throughout. Rental clubs were outdated by 30-40 years and didn’t have a putting/chipping green. Not worth the money with the options available elsewhere
Old Brickyard
The course is not in great condition. Lots of erosion and needs better care on greens. Too many blind shots on holes that just don’t make sense. Number 9 is ridiculous. They need GPS badly. A couple of guys had to ask where hole number 2 was.?! Staff not friendly at clubhouse. I had to ask who my playing partners were and then go find them. No starter or marshal so pace of play was terrible and we teed off at least 30 minutes behind schedule. Not enough carts to go around. Didn’t see cartgirl until 9th hole and not enough water coolers and no cups. Course needs a major upgrade for me to come back. It’s a shame because it could be one of the best around.
