El Rio Golf Club

About
El Rio Golf Course in Fort Myers is a player-friendly layout that will appeal to players of all skill levels. It's an ideal course for beginners who are looking to get in some practice on a full-length course. The layout consists of mostly par 3s and most of the holes are on the shorter side. Though it's a seemingly simple design, the greens have slopes that range from subtle to dramatic, which can make determining your approach to them a daunting task. Trees that line the fairways demand accuracy but the landing areas are generous. El Rio Golf Course has a pace of play that makes it convenient if you're looking for a quick round and the layout is gentle enough for beginners, and even junior players, to tackle with confidence.

Course in Good Condition
Course in good condition. Pace of play was very good that afternoon.
Convenient and fun little Exec Course
El Rio gets lots of public play and course is in pretty good shape, considering all the public play. It looks like a pretty straight-forward course, but it does have its fair shar of obstacles and hazards! Back 9 is much tighter than front 9. Off-course amenities include a putting green and driving range, but be careful on hole 10 as the driving range is parallel to the 10 fairway! Carts or you can walk it easy enough too. The course is tucked behind a city neighborhood and has some lovely scenery. This course is very close to home and is very convenient for us to play and reasonably priced. It's not Augusta...and then...most of us aren't Tiger!
Short course, but not pricey
The course is short. It's perfect for practicing irons and short game. Most of the tee boxes are in pretty rough shape, which almost forces using a tee on even the super short 100Y holes. Ground is rather rough, so it's almost impossible to take a divot. But 18 holes with a cart for $30 isn't terrible value for the area. If you are looking to crush a driver, look elsewhere. But if you want to work on control and irons, not a bad option.
Short Game
Good course to practice your irons and short game
Very busy, ranger/manager would have been helpful . Only saw 1 guy doing everything from getting drinks/food to checking in players
Course pretty beat up, greens in fair shape.
Friendly staff
This golf course is blessed with extremely friendly staff members. It is one of my all times favorite courses to go to and play golf.
