El Rio Golf Club
About
El Rio Golf Course in Fort Myers is a player-friendly layout that will appeal to players of all skill levels. It's an ideal course for beginners who are looking to get in some practice on a full-length course. The layout consists of mostly par 3s and most of the holes are on the shorter side. Though it's a seemingly simple design, the greens have slopes that range from subtle to dramatic, which can make determining your approach to them a daunting task. Trees that line the fairways demand accuracy but the landing areas are generous. El Rio Golf Course has a pace of play that makes it convenient if you're looking for a quick round and the layout is gentle enough for beginners, and even junior players, to tackle with confidence.

Dangerous
The most dangerous golf course I’ve ever played ! Golf balls flying by our heads on 7 different holes . Rediculous ! Greens hadn’t been mowed in several days ! Don’t play this course !!!!!
Fair price
With the rising cost for a round of golf going up more every year in SW Florida El Rio is bargain compared to many courses in the Ft Myers area. Great place to work on your short game and get some tight lie ball striking practice.
Give it a go sometime.
Good value course
First time at this course and it was a busy afternoon so play was probably a little slower than normal. Course was in good condition, greens had a few brown spots but overall very good. Presents some challenges as greens and fairways are close but overall very fun to play. Staff was great! Would play again!
Fun track
This is my go to course to work on my short game and also my midrange approach shots.
The greens are rolling fairly true with a few greens being repaired for some minor dry areas that can easily be putted past by simply moving your ball slightly like being in a ground under repair area.with no penalty. (assuming your group is reasonable)

Great course to practice your short irons, poor customer service.
I arrived at 4:23 pm to play 18 holes with a cart. I live on the course so I knew there weren't many people on the course. I was greeted with "you know you only have an hour and a half until sundown right ?" I said yes I will speed golf. Reluctantly I was rung up for my round and then was told to make sure I was back in with the cart at sundown because they wanted to go home. I assured the man I would be back in time. I caught up with the other golfers at hole #11 and was done with my round at the same time the group before me was. If you don't want people to tee off that late then put a closed sign up. I have limited free time & I am very aware of when the sun goes down. Poor customer service as this isn't the first time this has happened.

Fun track
I enjoy working on my short game at El Rio. My Christmas Eve game was a 62 (par 60) with 2 birdies and 4 bogies. I enjoyed it so much I played a second round for a 67.
Stop by and give it a try. There is just the right amount of water & bunkers to make it interesting.
Fun course...
Wife and I play here monthly. Great little course with a nice price. Very friendly staff and well kept for most part.
Great day
Nice exectitive course. Greens fast with some bad spots. They are working on them. Overall nice course.
Nice and friendly place
From the club house to the greens this course is a great place to play golf. One of the best par 3 par 4 courses I’ve ever played on. Great place to learn to play. Nice driving range. Also the price to play is reasonable
Super Fun Little Course
Very much enjoyed the golf today. Friendly staff, good condition, awesome price.
Worst Golf Course
On Thursday 21 June I took myv3 sons for a round of golf on what I thought would be a nice little track and we could enjoy 18 holes together. We are on holiday here from Scotland, and have been coming to Florida 2 times a year for around 20 years, so we have a fairly lengthy list of courses played. We had a tee time of just before 8am, duly attended and I paid the green/cart fees and we headed for the first tee.
We are 3 different standards of golfer, but we all have knowledge of the game and the etiquette that accompanies it.
We all hit off, hitting reasonable drives down the middle of the fairway only to loose two balls as the length of grass was ridiculous. Dropping balls and moving on we arrive at the green, to find it had been cored and was full of holes.
To narrow this down, we played a few more holes and each was exactly the same.
I spoke to the boys and asked their thoughts and we decided we did not wasn’t to continue in such poor conditions as it was not enjoyable.
We returned to the ‘clubhouse’snd were met with the fella I’d paid to get on and another fella who spoke to us on the first tee, who stayed rather abruptly ‘why are you back so soon, something wrong’. I explained to both that the condition of the course was not really up to standard and had we been informed of this we would not have paid to play. Both then became very ignorant a d more abrupt until after much deliberation, I was refunded my money. Having played golf at a fairly high level for approximately 45 years, I do feel that I have acquired fairly healthy knowledge of the game and the mechanics that are involved in all the running of golf courses/clubs.
I have given each catagory 1* and feel that is too much. We were totally disgusted by this behaviour and wil definitely not be back anywhere near it again
