The course has a nice layout, but the tee boxes and fairways were rough.

I reviewed LD earlier in February 2022. I want to add a few things. First off, the staff is great. They are very laid back and friendly. Second, the course is greening up nicely as of 2/24/22. Third, range balls are quite cheap: $8/90 large bucket. Fourth, having played a course in the Gainesville area a few days ago, I'd reiterate how great of shape the greens are in at LD. Finally, the pace of play, in the afternoon at least, is usually quite good.

We've played this course five times in the last few weeks because we are staying just down the road. The greens are in outstanding shape. The rest of the course is a mixture of dormant and green, tho' the recent rains and warmer weather have greened things up a bit. The course has some well-designed holes that are fairly challenging for bogey golfers like me, but they are quite fair. The fairways are pretty hard right now, which is of course a curse and a blessing. You'll get lots of roll, but it might be into the brush. The back 9 is much different than the front, with water in play. There are areas of the front 9 where houses are being constructed, but it's not bad. A major feature of the front 9 is large drainage areas. We've come to call them "the pits." Overall, it's a fun course and a great value. We'll probably play it a couple more times before we leave.

The course was just OK. The tee boxes were OK, the greens were good for the most part and fast. The fairways? They are in desperate need of rain - watering them isn’t enough. Every fairway shot was a tight lie shot. The pace of play for a Saturday was as expected. - our twosome took just over 4 hours. The layout was just OK at the same time. The staff was very friendly as well.
