About
Opened in 1969, the Country Club at Silver Springs Shores has been host to a variety of mini-tour and U.S. Open Section qualifying events. It is known for having some of the fastest and most severe greens in the area. Desmond Muirhead, a longtime associate of Jack Nicklaus, designed the golf course, giving it a different character on the front and back nines. The first half of the golf course is a traditional parkland layout that mixes native trees and wide-open meadows. The back nine is a true Florida-style golf course with water coming into play on six holes. Country Club at Silver Springs Shores finishes with one of its toughest water holes, a par 5 starts with an intimidating tee shot past a massive lake that wraps around the landing area. Many locals consider Silver Springs Shores to be one of the best public golf courses in the Ocala area.

Great round
Enjoyed a great day of golf perfect conditions and the course was very nice. Bunkers had standing water from recent storm not much can be done for that. Look forward to our return.

Please do something w restrooms on course. Repair them or tear them down..

Horrific bathrooms on course
Course itself is in good condition. However, the bathrooms are disgusting. Might better lock the doors if nobody is going to clean them. Ball washers had muddy water in them. Seems to me, if they can pay a cart girl for a beverages, they can have someone clean!
Still a good choice for 18. Very challenging for the average golfer. Crabgrass on the front 9 is not good but, will not stop me from playing it again.
Great value for the money
I play this course often Even though it is about a 40-minute drive because the layout is spectacular. However the cart paths are an abomination! I can't believe they haven't fixed the Grand canyon right in front of the clubhouse. First impressions count and anybody driving their cart to the first t will be very disappointed. Please fix this! With that said, the card paths everywhere are terrible but the tee boxes on about 15 of the holes are fine, and three are terrible. What makes this course a pleasure to play is it layout that is one of the best and good greens. I will keep coming back and I recommend this course to everyone with those caveats that I mentioned.
Has been Better
Fairways and greens are good… ruff is ruff, and getting ruffer, cart paths are continually getting worse, sand tramps terrible drainage and pretty much most are unplayable… restrooms, they should just close them and bring in port a potty’s ,also being your own TP.
Good fun round.
Hot deal course. Challenging pins, good greens, and thick rough. Nice pace, fair layout, a few rough spots. Will play again on hot deal.

Course is really great.Allways in great condition.
Club house restrooms are dispicable. Please install barriers.
A little rough around the edges
The course layout isn't bad, although the greens are a little too sloping, and some of the pin positions were unfair. The greens and most of the tees are in good condition, the fairways are okay, but not great. The cart paths are bad to terrible. We had some substantial discounts, so definitely worth the price.
