About
Opened in 1969, the Country Club at Silver Springs Shores has been host to a variety of mini-tour and U.S. Open Section qualifying events. It is known for having some of the fastest and most severe greens in the area. Desmond Muirhead, a longtime associate of Jack Nicklaus, designed the golf course, giving it a different character on the front and back nines. The first half of the golf course is a traditional parkland layout that mixes native trees and wide-open meadows. The back nine is a true Florida-style golf course with water coming into play on six holes. Country Club at Silver Springs Shores finishes with one of its toughest water holes, a par 5 starts with an intimidating tee shot past a massive lake that wraps around the landing area. Many locals consider Silver Springs Shores to be one of the best public golf courses in the Ocala area.

Hidden gem
Played this course for the first time today with a buddy. We both agreed ,great course, great condition . Greens ,fairways are fantastic. Rough isn't real punishing. Go out and enjoy this great course.
Kudos to the GM
Course was in good condition. Greens roiled very well. Fairways good. Had a timing mishap due to large tournament. GM Jay handled situation with great professionalism which lead to our foursome having an enjoyable round.
Always better than working
haven't played this course in about 10 years. Course is in great shape, forgot how challenging the back nine was. All in all a great day with great friends
Improving course. The staff was pleasant while checking in and the round of golf was enjoyable. Will be back.
Great Ocala/Marion course
Course is in good, but not great shape. New carts run great. Some soggy areas in the fairways due to recent rain. Fast greens minus #18. No crowds. Picked up a hot deal and was able to get a round for 4 at $76.
Better than expected
Played here a couple of times over the summer, and I noticed that there was a lot of maintenance going on each time. The overall improvement has been remarkable from then till now. Bunkers have been worked hard and play as well as any around. The Greens have been maintained as well as any I've played in Ocala. Fairways are green, with some weeds in spots, but overall they are very playable. Great value for the Hot Deal $.
Play it again
Haven’t played this course in over a year. They had the old antique golf carts the last time I played. The Course with the exception of one or two geens was in great shape the greens rolled true. An fairways are in good shape

A really hard corse for me. But had a great time. The cart paths need work really rough to drive on
Been a While
We'd played this course earlier in the spring and it wasn't in as good a shape as it was this time around. The fairways were good and the green's fast and excellent to putt on. If you keep your ball in the fairway or just into the second cut your fine. If you get into the rough grab another ball and move on. All in all a fine day's golf.

Great course for the money. Good for all types of players.
Very Well Maintained
Great staff. Good course layout. From tee to green the course was very well maintained. I will playing here again soon.
A Walk in Nature
We like this course because we always see wildlife here. The greens are not in as good a condition as they usually are. Some have some bad areas. The cart paths are rough. But the fairways are very good and it's always a challenge to play. There is water on numerous holes and sloped greens to make you focus on your game.
Good for all players
Course is set up to accomadate players of all skill levels. Fairways and tee boxes are in great shape. The greens were just aerated so in two weeks they should be very playable.
Aerated
Course being aerated like every course in town right now but no communication on golf now that front nine was closed and had to play back twice. Greens were awful but due to aeration. We used 2 putt rule entire round.
Great Fairways
Played six courses over last few weeks including Juliet Falls and Stonecreek but this course has the best fairways out of all. Greens cored and sanded but still good value and a tough test from the back tees.
