Riviera Country Club a hidden historical gem
The course is challenging especially with the size of the greens. This facility hosts the oldest mini tour event every year and sees big name PGA retired players and officials play or attend this event. The restaurant serves great tasting food at a reasonable price and is open to the public. I am a proud member and encourage people to visit the Riviera Country Club.
Nice layout with firm, fast and challenging greens
Nice layout that does not scream at the player. Some good birdie opportunities and some holes that par is challenging. Firm, fast and varied greens that make the player think. However, they are not too firm and fast for their slopes and they allow for aggressive shots. Great fairways and tees every time I have played. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
Rude staff
Played here a lot lately. Very close to where I'm building a house. Layout is great, greens are healthy and fast. However, always a bad attitude from the staff. My friend needed to bring his young child (2 yrs) and so we needed separate carts. We're always happy to pay full price for the cart rental, but the clerk wanted to insinuate that we were "cheating" them because we needed two carts. As if to say that our two full price rounds did not include two carts. After explaining that we go there a lot, and spend a lot of our money there, the guy continued to say "so what, you're just cheating us all the time?" I said "I'm cheating you??". Anyway, just some pretentious a-holes who think they're LPGA, but overall a nice course.
A fun time
Coarse is in very good shape. Greens are fast and true, I like that. Staff are great and friendly. A must play if in the area. Price is right.
Very nice and well kept course. Staff exceptional.
This is a very nice track. Greens well kept, as well as fairways and sand traps. The cart staff, pro shop staff and restaurant/bar staff totally appreciate your business and very courteous
Like going back in time
cool old style golf course, not a fancy 'club' , but very fast greens, and good maintenance. Holes go back and forth so not a lot of rough, but smallish tight greens that really ROLL. Worth. the money, makes you feel like Ozzie and Harriet are at the bar, really cool place.
Enjoyable outing
Tboxes fairways and greens in very good condition. Pace of play was great, 4some finished in 3.5 hrs. Good price and friendly staff
Nice course
I liked the layout of the course, well cared for. Would have appreciated some small talk when I checked in. Also, 3 others had a tee time at 2 like me and they let them go rather than asking if we wanted to make a foursome. For the sake of speed of play, that's how I would have handled that. I caught them on the second hole and joined them to keep things organized and flowing.
Enjoyable course
No real difficult holes. Just an easy, fun course to play.
Nice course
Course was nice, simple, open, had a good time. Greens were fast, fairways, tee boxes and greens were in great condition. Facilities take you back in time for sure.
Rain
Just rained to much , but by the time we were finishing up the course was drying out....
Pace of play
Pace of play was a bit slow. First time playing but I will definitely be back on a different day, as I learned today was league day!
I'll be back!
I love the classic country club feel of these vintage style golf courses and their cart path layout. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I've played at least 5 other courses in the area within the month and this course was is the best condition. See ya soon!
Hidden jewel
Very mice course and staff. Although hot and dry the course is in pretty good shape. I’d play regularly if I lived anywhere near here.
