Go Play LPGA! Photo submitted by oakleyduff on 06/26/2013
Good condition
Took my daughter to play here for the first time, she enjoyed very much, from now she demands I will keep taking her to play nice golf course like this one. 😂 haha
Fun Day
Love the Hills course. Course was wet due to heavy rain the night before and it was super windy so it made the course in tough conditions. Saw some cool wildlife, example a bobcat on hole 1, bald eagle also. It’s a shame so many homes are being built around the Hills course cause it makes the course not as beautiful. Overall a very fun day with good customer service all around.
Traffic Jam
We had planned to arrive an hour early so we could hit a few balls, and roll some putts but the traffic on I4 said otherwise. We had to rush to the first tee, and needless to say the first few holes were ugly. I would definitely like to come back and play the Hills course again.
Course Experience Going Downhill
The day was cool, so the course was not as busy as usual, which is fortunate as my playing companions were quite slow. I felt sorry for the group(s) behind us. No sign of a ranger to monitor pace of play. New home construction has really spoiled the ambiance of this course. The golf cart fleet is old and needs to be replaced. Also, make sure your cart has a rake because there are no rakes in the bunkers around the course. This results in really bad lies in the bunkers. Generally a disappointing day as I usually really enjoy playing this course.
Best course in the area!
I have played this course a few years ago and love it, and then replayed it, and it was as amazing as I remembered it.
Extremely well designed and challenging. The condition was very good too, and it is a very beautiful course that meanders through pines, palms and water areas.
For higher handicappers this course may be too tough, but for better golfers this is one of the best courses in FL
Worth playing
Nice course will play again. All around good experience.
course is fine, ruining the abiance
they are tearing down trees building houses around half a dozen greens and tee boxes ruining the peacefulness and serenity when playing the course. but the course is very nice
The Best in Daytona Area
Simply the best in the area. Love playing the Hills course over the Jones course but both are good.
Great course! But fix the restroom in the clubhouse!
Love the course! Always a challenge with the Bermuda rough and tiny greens.
However, every time I’ve visited the facilities, the Men’s room in the clubhouse is a disaster! I’d take a rest area off I-95 any day.
Seriously, is anyone tasked with looking at the condition of the restrooms? Plenty of paper on the floor, but not a shred in the dispenser. I could go on……
"World Class Facility" Pft - Atrocious experience.
Booked a tee-time for 2:45. According to their website the course looked all clear. Members aren't allowed to fill up the course until after 3:00pm. I figured with decent pace of play I would be able to whip around 18 real quick, no problem. Had played a morning round, so I didn't need to warm up. Paid for the round at 2:41pm. Guy says "Hills course should be wide open out there!" Perfect, just needed a cart, the first tee and I would be on my way.
Cut to the cart people so many reviews rail against. These gentleman perfectly sum up the generation of "I'm here, that's my work. Don't expect me to actually DO anything while here." No carts were available. When asked when they would be available they casually ignore you and keep playing their cell phone games etc. Sunset in FL around 5:45, tick tick tick tick, time running off the clock. 10 minutes goes by. No cart. 15 minutes goes by. No cart. Finally, at 3:05 a cart arrives. The kid who drops it off pulls up and acts like I've poisoned his grandma for simply needing the most basic service a golf course could require.
Ok, no big deal, have a cart, still have about 2.5hrs. I'm not horrible at this sport, I can do this. Take the nearly 1.5 mile drive to the hills course 1st tee, expectation and excitement growing as I drive. Make the final right hand turn to the first tee only top find it backed up 3 groups deep. While I'm debating what to do, a member cut me off and the groups on the tee and went to number 2. So, while I figure I can join this guy and can play around with him infront of the drunk 4some, my cart dies in the middle of hole 1. It's now 3:35, haven't hit a golf shot. Dead Golf Cart, and less than 2hrs until sunset.
Worst golf experience ever. For a $100.00 a round this is why you have starters, to prevent drunk 4somes getting infront of tee-times. It may be "Florida's" Premier course, but's it's run like a circus.
Slowest play ever
For $100 per round, this course definitely disappoints. We got to the 1st tee and there was four 4-somes ahead of us so someone let groups in front of us or put their tee times too close. In short, someone dropped the ball at this course. We waited on every tee box and every approach shot so had to stop after 15 holes due to time constraints as we were on pace for a 5 hour and 30 minute round.
Solid Layout, Very Fair Course.
Course was in Good Condition, although a little wet. Great are Very Small, but Fair and rolled true! Guess about 10 for speed. I’d play it again.
Awesome
Course was in great shape. It feels tighter the the Jones course and stay in the fair way the first cut is well maintained but ball gets covered easy.
Highly recommend this course
