Golfer Reviews
Everyday golfer
This course will be a very nice course. Once they finish all the repairs and work on it greens are in good shape, but all still aerated, and some holes were still on the construction.
Rough
Course condition is very very poor. I’ve played here many times over the years and this was by far the worst I’ve seen it. Punched greens. Most greens were dirt with very little grass on them. Lost of course construction with a temporary hole on 17. Tee boxes with little to no grass. It was hard to have a good time with such poor conditions.
Disappointed
Despite a downpour the previous night (that the course can't control), the overall condition of the course was awful. Not the Evergreen conditions played previously. Greens were punched and burned out. Several bunkers were flooded. No warning provided by GN either. A few new tee boxes (temporary tees) and a temp green #17. The course was sopping wet from the prior night and only allowed carts in rough - the course did send an email out in the morning with this info. Honestly, the course should be closed until renovations are completed and maintenance has a chance to improve tee boxes and greens.
Fun course
Some issues on greens or tee boxes in terms of coverage or it would be a five. Even so, it was good value and interesting and enjoyable. I will play again.
Course needs some drainage work
I love playing at the Crane. Course needs drainage work badly. I know they are working on the course to make it better. The employees are really nice.
Review
You should mark 200, 150, and 100 with pvc poles that are blue, white and red. This would both improve pace of play and enjoyment of play. Pretty easy fix for a large impact.
Prepaid in advance and when I showed up today the course was closed. Don’t know how to resolve thru the course or GolfNow but this is a disturbing situation!
Good morning Jeff,
You will receive your refund from Golfnow. This kind of situation is why it so important to fill in your contact information when booking a tee time. When the course is closed, we send out emails, and call each individual on the tee sheet for that day. If you do not fill in your information, we have no way of alerting you of the course conditions.

The round was good and they are working on the course. Nice to see money is getting spent on it.
Still needs work
Greens were slower than other courses I have played and had distressed areas. Fairways were decent with a few thin areas. Most tee boxes were good, but one was dirt.
Staff was great and pace was good at 4:15 on Saturday morning.
I have never seen this course in such poor shape. Diseased greens?? Tee boxes are like sand boxes. Disappointed-I like the course.
Good morning.
The greens are not diseased, we are purposefully stressing them by reducing the amount of water they receive. This practice will allow the roots to grow deeper and better establish themselves. There is a tremendous amount of work being done on the course to improve conditions. Think of it in this way; if someone has plastic surgery, afterwards there is bruising, swelling, etc. it takes time to heal, and when it does, the changes/improvements become apparent.

Good afternoon, We are in the transition of superintendents. In the process the golf course has suffered. We would like to invite you back for a free round, we do not want you to leave with the impression that this is how we do things here at the Crane Watch Club. We hope to see you soon.
