Thumper by the tee box.... Photo submitted by u060228832 on 02/08/2015
Very Poor
This course shouldn't have a rating above 1 star. The range was in poor condition, tee boxes are sparse with grass, greens are slow, cups haven't been changed in a week. If you are a beginner golfer this may be the course for you, but if your are an avid golfer this place is not worth the cheap price....don't waste your money.
Ok, good practice course short and narrow--very windy
Nice location, but it is very windy. Good for practicing your short game and keeping on the fairway in a tight residential setting. Many of the holes are short and there is a lot of water around making it more difficult with the wind conditions than you may first think.
Windy March
Course was in good condition. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of challanges for an executive course .
Enjoyed Palying There
The course was good to play but would have been better if the wind was so nasty... Tough hitting a 140yd drive over the water with 20-25mph winds blowing in your face.. I will play there again on a better weather day..
A decent layout
Now I played on a Saturday which as you know, Saturday is normally a snail pace round, well I'm not sure what is slower but we were it. With no Ranger the round stretched to almost 5 hours and that's not including the 30 minute delay and I was in a 2 some. If you want to play here, wait until the summer months or play during the week. The layout is great but the course is missing grass here and there, the greens are very slow. I like the course because I hate going to the range so you get the best of both worlds, a practice course. There was no cart girl and I have no idea if they have a clubhouse, I prefer to stock myself with something to drink. Yes I will play here again but only if I can't find anything else to suit my needs for a Saturday, which is how I ended up here on that particular day. Freedom fairways is a lot closer and offers the same style of course, but it's nice to switch up every once and awhile.
Well Worth Checking Out
First visit, very pleased with the layout, staff. Lots of water, so can be a challenge for a mid to high handicapper. Was very impressed with the condition and quality of the greens. Not a long course, so good opportunity to work on mid to short game. Very friendly and helpful staff. Looking forward to playing there again.
Great course for the money
We booked this course on Golf Now for 16.00/person with cart. We had a 4 group at 9:00a.m. One thing to note is how full this course is, and the tee times are 8 min apart. They are very strict on pace of play. The course is only a 62 par, with no par 5s and mostly par 3s. Take a lot of balls, as water comes into play on most holes. Luckily there is drop zones on every hole. Staff was EXTREMELY friendly!! We played the 1st day of new ownership. Only complaint was the bar/grille didn't open until noon, so we had to wait until we were done to get a bite to eat. Very inexpensive and the food was great! Highly recommended for a quick round. Only took 4 of us 3 hours to play 18.
Great Value
Loved the course. A bit slow but the weather was perfect.
Renko
Always a pleasure,Mike very accommodating, all staff from the desk to the course, top shelf. Like to see the restaurant open.
Nice little course
This is a short course up a grade from an executive course, but with water in play on 14 of the 18 holes. Blue tees for the long and straight hitter, but fairly wide fairways. A great time to try out different clubs.
Beware of Tuesday afternoons
Not knowing that at 2:30pm on Tuesdays they have a shotgun start, I guess for a league. So if you do not finish the front (9) by that time you must go to the back (9). Just a note to those who did not know this.
Poor
This was a golf course that I never once felt welcome no one to help you with bag drop and no carts available
Just a very poor experience all around
Very slow
The group ahead of us quit after 5 holes, we quit after 14 holes because the pace of play was very slow. I know the course has to make money in the winter but tee times seem to be too close together.
Very fun except
The grill was not open. Unable to get lunch or even a sandwich. But the beer was cold, so not all bad.
Attractive course - great for the short game but still challenging!
Really enjoyed playing here. Very welcoming staff and very organised. Very quiet the day we played, so got round in 2.5 hours.
Some very challenging holes - greens in very good condition. Very attract layout.
Would definitely recommend.
Terra Ceia
Short course but fun to play. fairways and greens in good shape. Visitor by tee box, very photogenic
Fun course to play
Greens a little slow and tee boxes a little rough. Lots of water to navigate but fun course to play.
Hey Matt, thanks for your insight. We have new owners now and we have drastically improved the playing conditions, green speeds and overall maintenance. If you think the course is too "short" you should try the blue tees and experience the 200+ par 3's over water with demand carries and small greens. Any player of your abilitity would enjoy it much better although the par 4's will still be pretty short for you. That is what "Executive" courses are. In our case, we are one of the longest Exec's you will ever play and you would definitely find it one of the more challenging if you play the Blues next time around.
