Bay Point Golf Club's Nicklaus Course at Sheraton Bay Point Resort is the only Nicklaus Design course in Northwest Florida. The golf course was formerly Lagoon Legend, which had a reputation for being one of the Florida Panhandle's toughest layouts. In 2004, the golf course closed and underwent a major renovation by the Nicklaus Design team. It reopened a year later with rave reviews. The redesign included restructuring the tees, greens, and bunkers and also re-contouring the fairways. The scenic landscape of scrub oaks, towering pines, and saltwater marshes was carefully preserved though. The golf course maintained the challenging aspects of the original but infused a play-ability that makes it accessible to all skill levels. Also like the former course, the new Nicklaus design offers the same stunning views of St. Andrew's Bay. In the fall of 2018, the Nicklaus Course completed a greens conversion to Tif-Eagle Bermuda-grass greens to bring championship greens to a championship course. Bay Point Golf Club has won the Panama City News Herald's "Best of Bay" in 2016, 2017, and 2018. The Nicklaus Course has hosted US Open Local qualifiers and is a home course of the FSU Women's Golf Team and will host their Division 1 Invitational in February of 2020.

Nice time

I really Enjoyed the course. The staff were very nice and friendly. I used A TeeOff discounted tee time. No problem….nice driving range. The food was good too at the grill they have….Riders are $25. They had a cart Lady for refreshments. .

Disappointed

Course was in good condition but to pay $130.00 the amenities were disappointing. After we were met by the starter he told us the beverage cart was broke down and we would have to go back and get snacks and drinks if we wanted them, We went back and got what we needed which was a hassle because we had to buy all our drinks at one time. Then after we got back to the starter he informed us there was no coming back to the clubhouse after 9 holes that you had to play straight through and there was only 1 restroom on the course. I guess what irritated us the most was as soon as we get on the 3rd hole here comes the beverage cart, For the money it just wasn’t a good experience. Nothing against the course condition it was fine but to pay that price everything else just seemed out of place. Won’t come back for the price we paid.

Not worth the money.

Disappointed to say the least. Was told by the starter that there would be no beverage cart because it broke down and if we wanted anything we would have to go back to the clubhouse and get it. We went back and got what we needed and then after playing a couple of holes the beverage cart shows up..Only 1 restroom halfway through the course and the starter informed us that you couldn’t stop afterward 9 holes that there was no turn around. We wanted to take a short break after 9 holes and wasn’t able to do that. I just feel for $130.00 the amenities were lacking.

Great Course in Great Shape

Our foursome had a very nice afternoon of golf at the Bay Point Nicklaus Golf Course. We all are super seniors over 70 years of age. The course was tough,4 even from the forward tees, but it was most enjoyable. The fairways are generous and the greens are large and undulating. The large bunkers, both fairway and green present a challenge. Best advice, plan out each shot and do not try to overpower the course. Do that and you will enjoy a nice round of golf.

PCB Trip

The course was in pretty good shape. It’s a bit odd set up where you don’t return to the clubhouse at the turn. Pace was pretty good until the last three holes. We ran into a group of 4 guys that played extremely slow. Because there wasn’t a lot people golfing, they had sent the starter/ranger home so there was no one to monitor the slow play.

Panama City vacation

I had a chance to play Bay Point. The course was in good condition overall. My only complaint was that the greens were very slow.

Course and staff were amazing

Everything was going great in to the front nine.

Met up with the Marshall and he informed us that as a twosome the course was wide open ahead of the foursome we were following.

Said we could jump ahead.

What did we find, not one but two fivesomes ahead!!

I have never ran into this before on any golf course I have played.

We didn't even get to finish our round.

HOW IGNORANT TO THE GOLFERS BEHIND THEM.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED

Ne vaut pas le prix demandé

Trop cher pour la qualité de terrain et l’environnement d’accueil. Le layout est très beau mais les verts sont beaucoup trop lent.

Finished in the dark

We’ve played Baypoint many times. Love the layout. Course was in typical post seeding November condition. Greens and tee blocks are thick with new seedlings. As a result, the greens were very slow. Pace of play was painfully slow - but it was a Saturday.

My only complaint is with Golfnow selling 1251pm as their Hotdeal time given a Panama City Beach sunset of 449pm. Allowing only 4 hours of daylight to complete a public course round (especially on a weekend) is simply not fair. We played (as a joke) the last 4 holes in the dark - with 17 and 18 in complete darkness.

Come on Golfnow - can’t you get a time closer to noon? You do it for Legacy (another PCB course) so why not Baypoint?

Nice day on the course.

I could not have asked for a better experience. It was a beautiful fall day, the fairways and greens were in excellent shape. I teed off ai 1pm and basically had the course to myself. Lots of water and sand so have extra balls.
