Legacy Golf Club
About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

The course was in perfect condition.
We were paired up with 2 gentleman from New York. They played on our level and we had a perfect outing.
Enjoyment
Nice course, nice layout, very nice greens...fast, true and they hold much better now compared to a few years ago when all the greens were redone.
We’ve played here many times, sometimes the play is slow because the marshals say nothing to players who don’t keep up with the group in front of them.
All in though, we enjoyed our round.
Good golf course
The best thing about this course is the greens, fast and true. Watch out for the 12th, you approach from below the front and when you walk up to see your ball, don’t be surprised if you’re long as the green slopes front to back. If you’re to long you’re wet!
There’s plenty of traps, all with lots of sand and nicely groomed. There’s water too, on most holes it’s off to the side (sometimes hidden) so keep your eye on the ball if you stray from the fairway.
Aside from the unfriendly gentleman that ran the pro shop, the course and staff was fine. The gentleman simply told us to go and start whenever you like with giving us any assistance or details on cart selection, which nine hole course we should play, or information on restrictions, etc. He basically told us to go play.
Windy but nice
Course was in great shape. The wind was ridiculous, but I knew that before hand from the forecast. Still a lot of fun. They were finishing a tournament when we got there but they got us off with no problems. Great deal!
Holiday golf
Nice course and friendly staff. They had a lot of rain the morning before we play, so it was cart path only. The course is laid out so you can’t play power golf on all holes. I found that I was playing most of the clubs in my bag.
Good Course
This is a good course. I am new to area and this is my 4th course and it a good set up. Play is slower than what I am used to but it was about 4 1/2 hours . I will definitely come back
Could be really good
Play this course several times a year. Great course, greens are in excellent condition. Only issue is the course always plays slow. Very hard to maintain a momentum Usually about a 5 plus hour play. Why do you pay the marshall.
slow play as always
it is a nice course with great greens, but the play is always slow and not because of bad golfers.Marshall moves throughout the course but does nothing to improve pace of play. Most times between 41/2 to 5 hours.
Great course but...
I love playing this course. It is a great layout in excellent shape but was disappointed in the pace of play. I was playing in a threesome and the started had allowed two fivesomes to play ahead of us. After taking 2 1/2 hours to play the front 9 I finally saw a course marshal and asked if it was a common practice to allow 5 players to play together. He said it was on occasions but he didn't like it and said he would see if he could speed them up.
Also, do not use their online booking. It cost me $5 to use the service when if I had just called the course it would not have cost anything.
Good course to play any hdcp
Everything was good, a little slow, need a little better marshalling to move groups backing up the course. But it wasn't snail slow, it just was held up by one group.
