About

Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.

The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

You call these greens?

Very disappointed in condition of course, particularly the "greens". They were cut so short, down to dirt. A few had a lot of Joanna making them slow and bumpy. Not a $75 course.

Fivesomes and poor condition

The customer service was great. With that said courses allowing fivesomes on busy days is unacceptable. The condition of the fairways and greens were pretty awful also. Charging over $100 on weekdays you would expect a lot more. We quit after 9 holes

A good round

Played with three other guys. All signed up via GN hot deal. Pace of play was good. Finished under 4 hours. Course was in good shape for winter. A few areas looked like drought hasn’t helped but overall a good round. Staff in the pro shop was friendly and the cart and starter people were great. Will definitely play here again

Playing behind a five some.

You like playing behind a five some? Well, neither do I. We started at noon (on time) and barely finished by dark. There were no player assistance(marshals) to monitor the pace of play. There were always two groups on every tee in addition to having to wait on every approach shot. Not fun.

Awesome Place

We always player here on our Anniversary each year. My wife and I look forward to it every year. We are going to make a point to play here more often. The course is always top notch and the staff’s always extremely nice.
