Legacy Golf Club
About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

Overpriced for what it is
Reading reviews from past month, we were hesitant to play here. We took a chance anyway. The greens were better than past reviews, however some had some “bumpy” lines to read our putts.
It was not very crowded, we had no one in front of us, and no one pressed up til last two holes.
At $100.00 a round per player was overpriced. At max -fee should be $65-70.00 for weekdays. Of course we had fun time playing with the family.
As a threesome, we finished our round in 3.5 hours, that was great.
Nice course , greens a little rough
The course overall is nice, good amenities and staff. The greens are a little rough but 2nd best of the courses I’ve played around Panama City Beach. Seems Hard to keep the greens in good shape in Florida. Need more water!
Not worth what they chage, but not any other options in the area
First off the facility and the staff are amazing. Staff is beyond friendly and helpful, they are the best part of this facility. The clubhouse is well stocked, all the top brands and reasonably priced. The grill and bar are above average for a golf facility, really nice! Now for thee really bad.... the range is nice, you even get a small bag of balls with your round, but you can't hit driver or 3 wood! I will say the putting green at the range is the nicest one you will see all day so enjoy it before your absolutely let down! The greens on this course are the worst I've seen....anywhere!! Little spots of i don't even know what kind of grass all over everywhere. The regular grass and these are not the same height so you can't get the ball to roll on the green. It bounces along and goes back and forth like playing plinko on price is right! If you get on the green, the group i played with just called everything a 2 putt and we got off the green......they are absolutely un puttable!!!! I wanted my $100 back after one hole. And it was every green, not just one or two!! Now the rest of the course is in great shape...just no way to putt on this course... I'd say save your money, but it's the only choice around if you want to play a round on vacation. Next time I'd drive an hour to play something you can putt when you play.
Fun course, but weeds and sand on the greens
First of all staff was very friendly and welcoming. Course was very open and friendly to errant shots, not a lot of water to traverse which was surprising being a FL course. Greens had just been sanded a few days ago, and you could tell the poa anna is taking over especially on the back 9. Greens were large and looked like they could have been very fast but hard to tell with the weeds and sanding. I will be very interested to see if they are able to get the weeds I see control when I’m back in the area in a couple of months. Hoping they do because this was a fun course to play. But until the weeds are under control not sure I would pay $90 to play again.
Nice course, good layout. Greens could be in better shape
Nice course, greens could be in better shape. Hard to have good greens in Florida.
Nice layout
Overall the course was in good conditions except for the greens, they were a lot of weeds and very bumpy.
Not bad
Nicest of 3 courses I played in the area. Greens were a mess, but overall a nice course.
Greens were terrible
We play Legacy each spring and fall and usually enjoy the course. This week the greens were covered in poa, which impacted every putt. Could be weeks before the poa goes away on its own.
Decent course, reasonable price
Given the relatively pricey offerings in the area, Legacy was a reasonable alternative to paying over $100 for 18 holes. While it was a generally good and fair layout, the greens were lacking. They were covered with weeds that made it less than fair for putting. So. overall I can’t give it more than 3 out of 5 stars.
Fun with Friends
Overall still a nice course and layout. The greens took a hit this winter and need to be cleaned up. I got as discount to play or I would not have played here. The price has gone up too much for this level of golf.
Crab grass greens
Course was nice but greens had crab grass throughout and putting was guess work at best
Basically a municipal course
course still needed some grown out fairways, greens had poanna growing through which made putting unpredictable.
average course - not worth the $118 I paid
Legacy Golf Panama City
Loved the electric golf cart with GPS screen. The course was in decent shape although the greens need to grow in, the.putting wasn't true. There were strategically placed bathrooms. The clubhouse closes at 6pm. We weren't able to access it as we had a late tee time.
I look forward to playing it again.
Not worth the money
Greens were bad with over growth of weed. Starter was rude and did not use any common sense
Terrible condition
The course was in terrible condition. You couldn't even putt on the greens because they were little patches of grass in them. The price was extreme for the condition of the course .. We were paired up with two wonderful people and that made the experience less brutal
Needs more work for on the greens. Not sure if this is normal for northern Florida but greens had lots of weeds very inconsistent
The course condition was absolutely terrible. The greens were unplayable, and the fairways were brown. Completely atrocious for the price. This is a 50 dollar course. I play this course every time I am in PCB, but I will definitely not be back until the course is better.
Fun with Friends
The staff was wonderful as always. The fairways are in excellent shape. The greens are a little rough after winter. This added some challenges while putting. Even with that I still shot my best round ever at this course.
