Lost Key Golf Club
About
Lost Key Golf Club is conveniently situated equidistant from the historic downtown area of Pensacola and the pristine white sand beaches of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores. The Arnold Palmer-designed layout was Florida's first golf course to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It underwent a major renovation in 2006 that included the addition of 2,200 native trees, 13,000 wetland plantings, and the resurfacing of the tees, greens, fairways, and rough. The golf course now presents a formidable test for even the most seasoned golfers. The greens are large and undulating and the flat fairways are lined with trees. There are also doglegs fairways on six holes and sand bunkers on several others. Lost Key Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole, which requires a tee shot over water to a partial island green that rolls across dramatic elevation changes.

Approach to No. 9 Green Photo submitted by ShragMagtite on 10/09/2017
Bring an extra ball !
Large green and nice size fairways, should help you in the Challenge. But if you missed the fairway you're out of it No playable rough here buddy. Arnold Palmer did an excellent job utilizing the swamp land. My favorite course in the area And with GolfNow deals I can afford to play here .
Go play this course!
Challenging course, demanding accuracy. Course is in great condition, fantastic fairways and greens. Even the bunkers are perfect. Get a great deal on GolfNow and go play!
Tough, but in great shape
Course plays tight. If you're not in the fairway, it may be difficult to find your ball. Bring extra balls and consider leaving the driver in the bag. Beautiful course though
Amazing Course
Course was in near perfect shape, very challenging. Do not anticipate using your driver much if you don't hit the ball straight. Tight fairways and near impossible to find balls in rough.
Course was as beautiful as it was challenging.
Outstanding golf course. Every hole could be its signature hole. You better be accurate or bring extra golf balls. Tough but fair, if the wind is blowing - watch out! If you visit the Pensacola area and you enjoy challenging course Lost Key is a must.
The course was in really good condition.
The course was in really good condition. The green ran true and had a lot of mounds. The course was kind of tight but challaging. The only set back was getting through the gate to the course. There was no number or code to call the course to open the gate to get on the property, I had to get on by a resident that was behind me that was tired of waiting on me.
Great course !!!!!!!!
The course was great , The people and staff were very friendly . We saw alot of wildlife , the greens were in perfect shape , will definitely play there again.
Very well maintained and tight.
Bring along a dozen golf balls - you'll need them. Beautiful course that I would definitely play again.
Excellent putting greens
This course has great putting greens. Fairways are in good shape too. Course is pretty narrow and is all about positioning not for the grip and rip player.
Pristine course in excellent condition!
Challenging course, but beautifully maintained. One of the best in the area.
a wonderful surprise
We played 5 courses in this area this week and Lost Key was by far the best course that we played.
Great course
This course is well groomed and has excellent features. Played real fast and everyone was very friendly
Great Views
Beautiful course and well maintained. Bring your A game. Played better the second time by leaving the driver in the bag on all but 2 of the par 5's
This course is very unforgiving if you don't hit it straight.
Greens aerated and sandy but fairways in great shape. Tough course with hazards on both sides of most holes.
Resort course with pracitice areas, Range.
Friendly staff, practice balls are included with price. Nice fairways and well groomed greens. Lots of water on most holes. Some carry drives from tips. Can be challenging for skilled players. Some holes are placement golf. Not many out there at noon. Very few golfers on Sat of Labor Day weekend. Would come back to play again.
Paspalum is always a plus!!!!!!
First time playing and what a gem! The course is tight for most tee shots. Finding land is all that is required. Most greens are large but quite undulating. I absolutely love it and will put it down as one of the best in the area! Great staff and excellent work on the course!
Tough Course.
Course in very nice condition. Would enjoy playing this course again. Lots of sand and water with narrow fairways. Great place to play.
"EXCELLENT FOR ALL LEVELS" & " EXCELLENT OVERALL "
"ONE OF THE B E S T THAT I HAVE EVER PLAYED" !
Staff is Super ( i thought it was a Private Club ), they load your bag and have it waiting after you check-in. Starter(s). are very helpful, beautiful dining room/bar & and well stocked Pro Shop. The Course is in "EXCELLENT" Condition. Fairways are plush, Bunkers have smooth white sand, and the Greens are F A N T A S T I C !! Tee shot landing areas are FAIR enough, but the Skill comes in on approach shots. Multi-Teeing allows all skill levels to enjoy this Excellent Layout !
" A Real Pleasure to Play "
Bring a bunch of balls
The only reason I said I wouldn't recommend this course to a friend is due to the difficulty. Don't get me wrong, the course was in incredible shape - one of the nicest courses I have ever played. However, two main reasons I wouldn't recommend to a friend. First, finding this place is annoying - terrible signs leading to the place, awkward entrance, confusing all around. The second reason I wouldn't recommend is the difficulty. I love a challenging golf course. I'm a 13 handicap. But this course is so difficult it actually hurts to play it. Unbelievably tight fairways, with little to know room for error. Anything off the fairway is likely to be lost in a marsh or thicket. And if you are brave enough to go digging back into the trees/weeds, don't be surprised to be accompanied by some snakes (we saw 4 during our round - two of which were on the fairway!).
I will visit this course again - in about five years after the pain of this last round wears off. Play there....if you dare!
A Treat!!
Normally playing city courses in Indianapolis....this was quite a treat for me....and for $10 even!!
Not sure how one could layout a course better than this. Lots of eye candy off the tee's to create doubt. You will pay the price for bad shots. The course is well marked with front, middle and back yardages on sprinkler heads. Sand traps protecting greens and fairways. Greens were consistent as were fairways.
Staff was friendly and professional.
The course ate me up....shot 91 from the blues....had 3 triples...a 9 on a par 4...lost 6 balls and loved every minute of it.
