Lost Key Golf Club
About
Lost Key Golf Club is conveniently situated equidistant from the historic downtown area of Pensacola and the pristine white sand beaches of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores. The Arnold Palmer-designed layout was Florida's first golf course to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It underwent a major renovation in 2006 that included the addition of 2,200 native trees, 13,000 wetland plantings, and the resurfacing of the tees, greens, fairways, and rough. The golf course now presents a formidable test for even the most seasoned golfers. The greens are large and undulating and the flat fairways are lined with trees. There are also doglegs fairways on six holes and sand bunkers on several others. Lost Key Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole, which requires a tee shot over water to a partial island green that rolls across dramatic elevation changes.

Love the course
Not an easy course but challenging. The course is in excellent condition. The practice range was very well kept. The restaurant facility was exceptional with very good food.
Will have to know your clubs for the differnt challenges
Good Challenge, hit out of fairway through rough get out another ball. All type of holes for all type of shots.
Great layout you have to make shots to play it.
Great layout pay attention tocomments on score card which are very helpful. Has a tee for every level of play . Plan on playing again
Free Range Balls
This course was in excellent shape. Despite being down poured on just a couple hours earlier, the course was not very.wet (except for the sand traps). It was dry enough for them not to impose a cart only rule. They asked to watch th for roped off areas which were few and far between. The fee includes a bucket of range balls, so don't do like me...get there with some time to spare to hit some balls if you want. The course was pretty tight and challenging, but very fun.
Target golf at its best.
This is one of the most challenging courses you will find anywhere, leave your wayward shots at home, if you miss the fairways or greens this is going to be a long day with lots of lost golf balls.
Awesome, challenging course
Course was in great shape for a mid-summer, Florida course. Greens were a bit slow but fair. You need to be straight on this course...very unforgiving on wayward shots. Lots of fun though! A bunch of options on each hole. Staff was friendly, cordial, and efficient. Definitely will come back.
Nice but challenging
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
I play this course each year I come to the gulf for vacation. The course is in the best shape I have seen it in the past 3 years.
Very challenging and not at all friendly to stray shots.
If you have not played this course, use the tips on the scorecard to guide you through each hole.
All of the greens are very protected by water and sand. All seem to be almost plateau greens. If you miss around the green, expect to be chipping from 20-25ft below the green.
Hint: if you cannot see a landing area do not try it unless you are absolutely certain it is an open area. You take what this course gives you.
Nice course. If you are looking for a challenge, you have found it.
the course is very challenging
my first time out this year and the course was great at a great price. would definately go back
Great course! Be ready for a challenge....
The course is very well maintained, and requires players to be precise with tee shots, with a very obvious risk/reward strategy. Unfortunately we got behind a large scheduled scramble, so the pace of play was VERY slow, so we did not finish the last 5 holes.
Bring Your "A" Game
First things first, the course was in outstanding condition and the layout is great. But, it is not an easy course to play! Lots of long irons of the tee and then long irons into the greens, with losts of sand traps and marsh areas to play around. This course requires accuracy. Some of the greens have so little landing area around them that they are essentially island greens. It was a great course and the staff was wonderful. If you are up for the challange, then this one is for you. If you spray the ball all over the place, well, bring plenty of balls.
Some of the prettiest greens around!
What a bargain thanks to Golf Now App. $80 per round for only $24 with range balls. Golf Now has it going on!
Great Hot Deal
Got lucky all around with a great fee, and missing the weather. The course was in great shape considering the amount of rain in the past two days. No standing water anywhere. Receptive greens and pristine fairways. Great staff!
Tough, Narrow course...
Not many holes to hit driver on if you're a longer player. There's a lot of bunkers where you would usually end up off the tee. Numerous bunkers around the greens and a lot of slight dog legs throughout the course. Greens need some attention, but they were receiving the attention needed, just not gettin enough rain o the course.
SLOW !!!!!!
Round started out routinely but by 7th hole the fivesome allowed to play in front of us held up our foursome and groups behind us the rest of the round. The fivesome had several open holes ahead of them but their lack of ettiquette and no ranger on the course led to an overall unpleasant experience. Course conditions were spotty with a bare spots on both greens and fairways.
Great Course and Staff always makes you feel welcome.
The value of playing Lost Key has always been good but with the Golf Now Booking site has increased it more than imaginable. Just wish I had found it sooner or our stay had been longer. Will without a doubt be playing Lost Key in near future and checking Golf Now for T-Times.
Not a pleasant round
The course is maintained ok, but ok is it. Lots of bare spots that will only get worse. I could have overlooked all that except for the incredibly slow (and completely clueless) five some in front of us. Held up everyone - we caught them around #7, I mentioned to the starter at the turn and he said "it's Sunday". I don't know if that means course etiquette doesn't apply on Sunday, no ranger on Sunday or just wasn't concerned. But it made for a miserable day of waiting on every shot. And the five some always had an open hole ahead. It's too far too drive to drive for that kind of answer.
Lost ball is the nickname of this course.
Almost all the wooden bridges have boards that stick up and are in need of repair before they cause damage to carts and golfers. This course does not suit my style of play and requires one to be extremely accurate or you lose your ball, Nuffield said.
Very challenging course. Service/staff was excellent
Very challenging course. The service/staff was excellent
Beautiful course, but challenging for the average golfer
The course has some challenging holes, requires accurate shots to well guarded greens. A tight course if you spray the ball at all. When we played in mid April the greens were spotty which resulted in many bouncing putts, a definite negative. Having prior knowledge of where to land the ball would have been helpful.
Great course. Some cart paths need improvement for safety.
Overall the course was in very good condition. Although , being from Michigan, we were somewhat unfamiliar with the type of greens in the South. It took us a few holes to get the 'feel' of things with the roll on the greens. Lots of water and lots of sand made for a very educational round. The greens were fun to putt; each with its own character and unique fashion. I'd rank the overall course 8.5, reduced from a 9 only because of a couple 'tilted' spots along the cart paths that we considered could be hazardous to some drivers.
