Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
About
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

Always ready for golf !! Photo submitted by moorem815 on 07/22/2018
aeration alert not noted - expensive replay fee
Generally I like this course and have played it several times. But... had there been a notice of aeration on the greens, we would have booked elsewhere. We even called to find out course conditions and other questions and nothing was mentioned about the condition of the greens.
To pay weekend rates and not be told the greens were aerated, seems disingenuous.
Upon completing a round of golf, most courses offer a cart fee only or discounted fee for replay. Crystal Lake only offers twilight rates at full price. Not acceptable - especially for a course in this condition.
Always an enjoyable course with a good variety of holes.
This course is always a great track to play and has enough variety and challenge to keep you wanting to come back. It's in a peaceful setting with no major road or highway noise so that's a plus. The greens were just aerated on Tuesday but we didn't mind because we had the whole course to ourselves. Some weeds had popped up on a few fairways but w/ the amount of rain that happens and I'm sure it will be addressed but besides that the course is in good shape.
The course is scenic
The enjoyed the layout and views the course offered. The greens were in shape and rolled true.
sunday game with 4 some
compare to last few years course has lost some challenges.
it was more fun and had great view throught out an entire 18 holes,
i think they trimed out too much of busch and trees. i hope they grow back soon.
Great way to start the week
Grass in cut fairways are wide open and greens firm. I will return, soon!
HAD A GREAT TIME
Got off on time, but had slow play "It was Friday." The Course was in great shape. Greens rolled great, but greens not respond to short iron shots.
Course is challlenging but fair
Pace of play was excellent on Thursday. having not played there before yardage markings would be helpful. I di enjoy my outing.
Like a mountain course in the city
Best course south of Atlanta. Great shape and some very challenging holes. Will definately return.
No refreshments on course during play.
This was my second time playing the course and again found it very challenging. I do wish that refreshments were available at some point on the course during play. It was a warm day and there were no signs of water or food items once we left the club house.
Great Value, Greens in very good condition
The course drained very well. It rained all day and night the day before we played. Staff was friendly. Fairways and greens in very good condition. Enjoyed the course layout and the challenge. A must play
Great course
i liked the the layout . It was difficult to know where to hit your shot off the tee . They need to have a map on the back side of the score card so you know how the hole plays out. also a ball washer would be nice . I thought over all though the greens were maintained well and the course was good . I would play this course again .
Thanks Ron
Course in Good shape and Greens were very playable
Great Course with several wide open holes. NO Water Jugs or Ball Washers on the Course was a little strange.
Always liked this course
Plays well. Well laid out. Fun holes. Greens are pretty good. HAd a great time!
The course is in great shape. Can't wait to see it later this spring.
Management appears to put a great deal of care into pleasing their patrons. The carts were clean, and lined up almost in a military precision. I totally enjoyed the greens and fairways despite the obvious remnance of winter. The staff was great.
This course has been my favorite course to play since moving to Atl 5 yrs ago.
The course is give and take, just when you think this is my day, you are in for a rude awakening. Great course I always try to take my out of town guest to this facility.
SAND!
Fairway surface is a bit thin. Better know how to be long out of the sand
Great wide open rolling fairways through pristine subdivision.
My son and I loved playing this course. All the fairways were wide enough to land a jumbo jet on, including the par threes. The grass was a bit thin from winter, but should look beautiful when fully green. A lot of strategically placed bunkers throughout the course. Had four mens tees and one ladies tee from 4808/68.1/115 to 7202/74.3/144. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because there were no course or hole layouts anywhere on the course, tee boxes, or score card. There were several blind tee shots we were just guessing on. Also, no directional signs showing where the next hole was. Had no problem with crowds as we played on a very chilly Thursday afternoon. All in all, a very nice, enjoyable course to play for all skill levels, at a reasonable price.
Moving up!
I've been playing this course for over 6 years. When we first started playing Crystal Lake the course was in spectacular shape, the staff was great, and the amenities were outstanding (clubhouse, range balls incl w/ round, nice carts w/ GPS, guys to grab your clubs and load them on a cart). Over the course of a few years the service got pretty bad, there were no beverage carts, no starter, the guys in the cart barn did absolutely nothing, the GPS was removed from the carts, and range balls were no longer included. However one thing that has never changed is the condition of the course. The greens along with the tee boxes and fairways are always in pristine condition. It seems that with new ownership Crystal Lake is moving up to be one of the premier courses south of Atlanta. I am happy to see this turnaround because it really is a great course.
