Greens are in great shape
They are a bit slow right now, but looking great and playing solid. Fairways are 70% there and should improve with some rain hopefully over the next few weeks. The biggest issue is the tee boxes are hard as a rock and hardly any grass. They need some specific TLC!!! Value is through the roof right now.
Hilly and nice layout
We like this course, which is hilly and challenging. The greens were still in good condition and some tee boxes were as hard as a rock. Overall, this course is enjoyable and fun to play. We hope to play this course throughout the year.
Could be a great course with some work & improved customer service.
The greens were in great shape, the fairways didn’t have a lot of grass, & bring a hammer with you to get your tee in the ground on the tee box.
The course is a little tricky. You can hit good shots that wind up in crappy places because of the hard fairways, lack of grass on the fairways, & some of the junk you just can’t see from the tees or fairway.
My biggest complaint is that I felt we were being punished for booking through GolfNow.
We showed up thirty minutes before our tee time. We were basically told that because we booked through GolfNow that we couldn’t get a cart until ten minutes before our tee time.
They were not extremely busy & had plenty of carts sitting in front of the cart barn.
The guy behind the counter said that the course didn’t make any money on GoofNow bookings & that they were forced to give away two tees times every day.
The only reason we drove over an hour to visit his course was because of the positive reviews on GolfNow & the GolfNow price.
After our trip there last summer, we swore that we would not play there again.
First time
I read reviews before going and was a little nervous. We really liked it. Good value. The greens were in good shape, fairway cut was great. The carts we had weren't very good. They were very noisy and the paths were in pretty rough shape. There was a BBQ set up at the turn that day and was probably the best I've ever had. We'll be back for sure.
Does not honor the golf now deal
This was my second time playing at this Golf course and this was and is my last time playing at this Golf course due to the Fact that once I got to the Golf course the gentleman told me that I would be sharing a Golf cart with another gentleman I have no problem playing with other Gentlemen but if I paid for 18 holes in a Golf cart then that's what I'm expecting I'm not expecting to play 18 holes and share a Golf cart that is not what I paid for I paid for 18 holes and a cart. And the issue was that the golf courses as per the employee they make no money when we book thru golf now so that's why you have to share long story short nice course but management sucks for making you Share a cart with a stranger but that's not the issue I paid for a cart not to share 1 with quite possibly a covid case or flu case
Fairways hard to play off of.
As others have written, really good greens now. A little slow when I played. But because of no rain and no fairway watering, be aware the faieway runout is crazy! Because of this, you can easily hit throught the fairways on the dog-leg holes. Club down on your GPS distances. Will return but after a lot of rain.
I was surprised
It had been 6 months since the last time we played this course. Big improvement on the greens. Fairways have been cut and maintained. It was very dry because of the drought. The staff in this place always feels indifferent. However, because of the price and the recent improvements is worth playing it. I would return.
Greens Look Good
I’ve played this course a few times over the years and I’ll start with the good. The greens are the best I’ve ever seen them. The staff is usually friendly as well, I’ve only ever had one problem with them. The bad: the fairways and rough areas are still not in great shape. For 1 of only 2 public courses in newnan, I would think they would want to get the course in shape to compete with SummerGrove. Right now they’re not even close. Maybe one day.
Coweta Club
I had not played this course in several years due to the condition of the greens (diseased, more sand than grass). I read some recent reviews and chose to take a chance and try it again, because I enjoy mountain courses, and this course fits that bill. The elevation changes are frequent and some are intense, and some holes are pretty spread out, so I wouldn't recommend walking this course. The tee boxes are mostly sand, but I use a tee on them, so that's not really a concern for me. The fairways are starting to come in, and with some watering, should be pretty lush by summer. The fringes around the green could use some work on some of the holes, but they are coming in, as well. The greens, however, were the absolute best part of the course (the pace was a close 2nd). The greens are in the best shape I have seen them in years, truly the highlight of the day. Our 4-some teed off behind a couple, and we maybe saw them again once that afternoon, but were never held up. We let a 2 some play through at the turn (careful on this hole, elevation, et al.), but otherwise we didn't really see anyone else on the course. The weather was beautiful as well. The clubhouse is under construction, so amenities are pretty limited, but the course attendant was great, and kept us updated while we waited for our carts (we arrived a good bit early). It was a great day for golf, and Coweta Club did not disappoint. I would recommend checking out this course to anyone, but also understand this is not an "easy" layout, in the least.
Decent
If you can get a hot deal it’s worth the money. If not you can find better values other places.
Better than Normal
Right now the course is in good condition because of cooler temperatures. The course has bentgrass greens and after a hot summer, they usually lose their greens. If you are going to play here, play right now
Gave the club second chance
My wife and I loved it. We played this course last time about three years ago. We heard someone saying that the course was improving, so we came to check. All the greens were beautiful. It was a great pleasure for us to know that Coweta Club has now come back to our favorites. The golf cart paths show that renovation is going on. We are so happy that finally somebody is committed to manage it right.
Challenging
Could use some rain but the place has a ton of potential. Super fun course
Tee boxes need help
The layout makes the course very challenging and the greens are in great shape but the tee boxes need some attention but very nice golf course overall for the price
