Not a $40+ Course
First time playing here and saw great reviews but upon playing I found the greens to be some of the worst I’ve played. Weeds, ball marks throughout - many obviously old and never repaired, and around the green on many holes were piles of grass trimmings.
The layout was cool and had it not been for the greens this course could be challenging and enjoyable. If I had paid 20/25 I would have no complaints but I was not at all satisfied for $40.
I’ll point out too my cart died on 18, but I wouldn’t hold that against them. That happens to the best some times.
Great course
Great course! Really tight and hilly. Beautiful views and beautiful houses in the neighborhood. Fairways and greens are kept up very nice. Some of the tee boxes could use some work, but 90% were solid. Challenging par 3, and par 4. Nice open long par 5. Beautiful spot, nice and quiet, and open to the public!
Fairway
You better hit it in the fairway or bring plenty of balls.
Surprised they are still in business .
Because we used golf now they would not let us have our cart early. I would not recommend this course to anyone!
Always Nice;
Coweta is always a nice course to play . Wonderful course with moderate difficult due to elevations and course layout
Bent Greens are in GREAT shape for July
Played 18 today with a buddy at 1pm at Coweta Club. This is the third time I’ve played it and the first for my friend. This course is obviously a difficult track with lots of elevation changes and such. Part of the reason why I like to come back is because the course is such a challenge. You can tell that the maintenance staff is trying. The greens are about as good as you can expect for this time of year given our lack of rain and the course does not have fans to help keep the bent grass cool. The rest of the course needs some attention. Definitely worth the money given current private club pricing.
Rainey day
When I checked the weather channel it didn't show rain. However it stormed on the way to the course. When I arrived it was raining and I decided to wait it out. Once I started my round it was a light mist. I continued and the only thing I didn't like was cart path only due to the inclimate weather. It took a while as I started about 3:45 as tee time was 3. I didn't finish until 730. Course was in good condition even though it rained. Greens were fast as the rain caused that. I landed in one sand trap and it was hard due to rain.
If you just want to play
If you just need a course to play and not care about the experience, this is the place. The staff is hit or miss. Policies are fluid and depending on who's working the counter depends on how your day will go. My last trip had a guy who was very direct and clearly in a bad mood, i brought my son with me, which I expect to possibly be pair with someone else, but this individual made it apparent by being rude. He said I needed a my own cart and that I would have to pay separate for it. I made a joke stating dang over 18 for a cart, to which he just rudely snickered, yes. So I stated that he seemed annoyed and I wasn't going to just let him act that way towards me. Then the day went on.
The course itself is average. Hard tee boxes at some holes but overall a decent course. My group enjoys the course every now and then, but there is a lot of brush, so don't shank your shots.
The greens keepers are respectful and will quiet equipment to let your hit. The club house is still closed down.
I have dealt with other golfers who act like they own the place, but the club house will not do anything to address their misconduct even when brought up.
Overall, I would recommend only to play during the week. The weekends are too crazy and poorly managed.
Challenge
Course was in good shape, tee boxes need some attention, this course is one of the toughest courses you can play in the state of Georgia so be prepared to add some strokes to that handicap during your round..it's worth the challenge.
So much potential...
I liked the course and would like to play it again. Signage could be better around the "clubhouse" to know where to go. While it was a hot day that did not have a bearing on my round, except that it made it faster as there were not many golfers out. The course itself has a good and intriguing layout. Very challenging in places. I played the blues and it was hard to find grass to tee the ball up on. Fairways were a little better, but still played improved lie to get a reasonable lie. The greens were in nice shape but really slow. Some bunkers were great and others were sparse. My take-away from the day was that the course has so much potential, but needs attention. This is a tough course the first time. Second time I will know better where to put the ball and where the danger is.
