Unfriendly Staff
Staff member very rude and unfriendly, no range balls available to purchase, extra $18 cart fee to ride alone... greens have patches... Definitely not worth the money or drive to this place...
Oh Well!
Not a bad course. Greens had some brown spot but the speed was good. Fairways average.
My friend and I had an online Golf Now tee time for 12:40. I got to the course early and checked us in. My playing partner arrived about 30 minutes after I arrived. No one was waiting to tee off No.1 so we loaded our clubs, headed to the first tee. (No starter)
In the fairway of the 11th hole, the attendance rode out and questioned if we had teed off earlier than the online tee time. We said yes because no one was waiting. He said we should have waited until the online time to go off. He said the course does not get paid when players go off ahead of the online time. To quote him "It's kinda like stealing." Excuse me "stealing." It didn't feel like stealing to me because my Visa balance increased $53.
Insulted to all but be called a thief.
Fun day
First time playing this course and it was a fun afternoon for me. I read one review that said this course eats balls and they weren’t lying. Fairways were a bit tight in places for someone like me who can slice the ball at any moment. I even lost a few balls just off the fairway in the rough, I knew where they landed and still couldn’t find them. Several of the greens were in really rough shape. It was a tricky course but I did enjoy it
They'll help you Catch COVID
So, I drove nearly an hour to play here (again) and was ready to go on my purchased time and they wanted me to pair up in the cart with a COMPLETE STRANGER!!. Obviously, not the way to treat (returning) customers in this day and age of highly communicable diseases. They had already let the other player go out and jammed me with a cart fee which was much more than the (cart included) fee I paid that day.
After paying for the cart the GM meets me in the parking lot to rail on me after I tried to get an explanation from the confrontational gal in the pro shop.. Nice touch!
As has been written before, this place is not worth the hassle with this "gotcha" cart policy . Plus, greens have lots of brown patch, fungus and scalped ares sanded over. I won't be back again, hope others take this as a warning before making an unsafe the trip out the the country
Coweta Club
This is a very challenging course. It is not built for beginners. The greens definitely need some off season maintenance and a little tlc. We had a great round and we would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants a challenging round.
Dont play on weekends
No starter or marshalls. 1:30 through 6 holes... 5 hour pace. Greens are in poor condition (riddled with pitch marks). Worst pace of play of any course Ive played in Georgia. Not worth the 32.50 hot deal to play.
Had to pay extra to be safe
The rough was extremely too high, the greens was very slow, almost fuzzy like, and there were many hard pan spots in the fairways. That's fine, I've played worse. Here is my real complaint, I had to pay an extra $10.00 to ride in a cart alone. We are in the middle of a pandemic and they want you to share a cart. So instead of the $53.50 that I booked on GolfNow I had to pay an extra $10.00 to be safe and help my group be safe. Unreal. We decided that we will never play this course again. No concern for human safety, only want the money.
Greens need work
Good course but greens need work. Very dry, fast, and in rough shape.
Disappointing for this time of year!
Disappointed in the conditions. With as much rain as we have had I understand the fairways being fairly long and unmoved. The greens are the most disappointing!
With the other options available in the area. The price to play Coweta is now overpriced!
If you care about COVID, don’t play here...If you don’t, the course is in perfectly playable shape.
There is only one reason I would not recommend this course to a friend. There is no mask requirement. I did not see a single person, employee or player, wearing a mask at any time in the clubhouse. They also had the audacity to charge me an additional $10 to get a separate cart, so they charge you to impose your own social distancing. I also got the stink eye from every player I came across for wearing a mask in the clubhouse. I have played this course dozens of times of the years, and I personally have always thought it was one of the best values for a fun course not too far outside Atlanta. However, after today, I will not play this course again until they take their customers safety more seriously (my personal choice, I am not proposing anyone else take this same stance). Of course, I’m not advocating for masks being worn out on the course when your playing, that’s neither necessary nor feasible. However, the charging me $10 for an extra cart for my own safety... the principal of this policy is disrespectful and shows a lack of management/leadership/understanding. However, as far as I know, they are breaking no laws and have every right to run their business as they deem appropriate. I just happen to wholeheartedly disagree with their approach. I just want those who still want to be able to get out and play, and want to do it in a safe and respectful way like I do to be aware of this prior to booking as I was not. And admittedly, that is my own fault for not doing my due diligence before booking. I readily admit and own that. This is my opinion, please take it as nothing more.
As for the course, it’s in decent shape given the ridiculous amount of rain we’ve been having.
Greens: Soft, slow and don’t break much, but are rolling pretty true. I expect this is due to all the rain, and I believe they’ve made a smart decision here to allow the course to hold up to play given our crazy whether of late in GA.
Fairways: their fine. Not the greatest, but not bad. Again, given all the rain, I believe they are handling this correctly.
Rough: VERY long. Fortunately we weren’t in it to much today; but the times we were, finding the ball is quite difficult, and you will spend a lot of time just searching for your ball. I actually appreciate this. If you don’t like the length, then don’t put your ball in it. It’s meant to be penal. However, as long as it is, it is surprisingly not that difficult to make good contact because it’s not terribly dense.
Tee Boxes: some are sanded a bit and recovering. They’re not immaculate, but I did not have a problem finding perfectly acceptable locations on each tee box with tight enough patches of grass to properly/comfortably tee up even with irons/hybrids/fairway metals.
Bunkers: getting a bit furry around the edges giving a more natural look. Whether this is intended or merely due to limitations due to rainfall, it’s really only aesthetic and doesn’t cause issues with play. The important thing is that (on all the bunkers I noticed) there is no vegetation growing within the bunkers. The bunkers themselves are just fine and perfectly playable.
To end this on a positive note, I believe the course is still a great value for the money; and I think the grounds crews are doing the best they can, and the right things to keep the course playable despite the overwhelming amount of rain we have had. My kudos to them.
Course needs work
This is not the Coweta I know (been playing this course for 8 years). I always enjoyed playing this challenging tract (especially with pace of play). But seeing how there’s little attention being paid to maintenance of the course, I was disappointed. The greens are slow and you’ll spend unnecessary time looking for balls in the rough since they haven’t been trimmed.
I hope they get back to making this the enjoyable course I know.
Always a pleasure at Coweta
Had a great morning at Coweta, staff is always friendly coarse was getting a fresh cut today so the over growth shouldn’t be problem for the next few weeks. At least for me when land in the ruff.. LoL
Willie 22
The course is not in very good shape, the greens are very slow, grass to high for me amateurs. Also tee boxes need repair. The golf now cart fees are being charged as a 10 dollar extra fee if you want to ride along. Golf now should remove the service at coweta for charging extra money for carts.
Course had amazing touch and feel! Landscape was beautiful!
Thoroughly enjoyed this course! It was pleasantly surprising but so scenic yet tough. Greens are slow to medium most of the day. Which I love because that allows me to put harder.
Hidden Gem
Beautiful course tucked away in a private subdivision. Not busy at all, which was surprising for a sunny Friday morning. Course was in impeccable shape. Challenging enough but you don't have to be Tiger to conquer. Friendly staff. May play again tomorrow.
Challenging Course
This course is not for the week. Very challenging. Have to keep your ball in play/position or say good by to your ball. The greens are slow. You would think they were faster on the way they look. If they get the green speeds up I would have gave them 5 starts
