Course was in good shape overall. You could see that some of the bunkers were rough, but the maintenance staff will no doubt get them back in shape before much longer. Greens rolled true (some long putts were sunk), and the fairways were cut nice and tight. We very much enjoyed our day; we'll be back in the future.

The course was in nice condition. Greens rolled well, actually on the slower side compared to the way they normally roll. There were some bunkers that needed some serious TLC on the backside. We played a hot deal so that's always great value golf.

Played at Blue Ridge Shadows on Saturday and it was great. The course was perfect, greens were in great shape and the bunkers as well. The pro shop was friendly and knowledgeable. Purchased a new driver and fairway wood. Can't wait to play again, next weekend. ....

I played 36 holes today at Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Course. I was greeted early this morning by the General Manager, and set out on time for two rounds of golf. The course was in great shape for Mid October. Fairways and greens were in well serviced, and the bunkers were being repaired and new white sand being added. The greens were relatively fast and true. Since we were the first group off today, the pace of play was great. We played our second round in 3.5 hours. This course offers a very scenic experience and is fun to play. We look forward to our next round here at Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Course. Great deal.

Played Blueridge Shadows on 10/16/2016 as part of our annual golf getaway. The course was horribly let go regarding maintenance. 90% of bunkers have 1 ft high grass and weeds growing in them. They've adopted a local rule for free drop from bunkers - both fairway & greenside. There was crabgrass and clover growing throughout the rough. No one in the pro shop or the starter warned us. I noticed that the only bunkers they maintained are the ones visible from the nearby hotel and those you see on your entry to the parking lot. just two years ago, this was a beauty - we always planned 36 at this course - what a disappointment.

Considering the amount of rain the last few days we felt the course was in very good shape. Beautiful scenery. Had a great time. Staff very friendly. Very helpful.

The course and has somewhat fallen apart looks nice from the side of the highway where you can see the first hole and partial of the back 9,15 through 18 mainly. The greens were in OK condition rough maintained very well fairways OK loose grass left on them only the bunkers seen from the highway were maintain all of the other bunkers very awful for the rest of the holes. I have played this course many times in the past few years first time this year and would not recommend anybody to play it as of now.

Course is in better condition from when I played it last. It seems management is making an effort to bring this course back to the course we all know and love.

First time playing this course and loved the layout!

The sand traps definitely needed work, but I was told that this was planned.

I was warned that the bunkers were under repair and that the greens had been aerated at the time of check-in so I was prepared to look past that as I made my way around the course. The rough, however, needs some work, Reminds me of Jacksons Chase (the locals will understand). You shouldn't have to search very long for a ball that went 5 yards off of the fairway!

The trees are deadly here! If you see or hear that you went into the trees, just hit another ball. Your not finding it! I played with some guys that insisted they could. They were wrong and it added to the pace of our play and I had to apologize to the group behind us after the round was over.

Blue Ridge Shadow isn't worth a drive from anywhere outside of 15 minutes. The course is just okay. Condiions were a 2 out of 5. All of the bunkers are unpayable to the point where the local rule is a free drop. I mean, there's 4 foot high grass growing in the bunkers. Yo, BRS...cut it, rake it, anything!

Lots of blind shots and fairways that run out. We played the whites and could have moved back a tee, but I can't stand courses that penalize you for hitting a nice long drive. Really just disappointing overall.

Food was good, beer was cold, clubhouse was fine. The course is in total disrepair. Really disappointed.

After reading the other reviews i was excited to play here, Coming up the road to the club house saw some bunkers with beautiful white sand now i was happy with my chose to play here that didn't last long. We started on #10 that was fine. It was either 11 or 12 I hit into the bunker and lost the ball it was so over growen with weeds I never lost a ball in a bunker before.We started to notice things like many of the bunkers in very bad shape weeds growing in the center of the fairway. Finally made it to the front 9 more of the same but not as bad. This could be a beautiful course it is very challenging has many blind shots and changes in elavations. You can use every club in your bag which is what i like. Go play if you get a hot deal not worth full price until they fix the course up a little bit.

This course is our go-to course in the local area. It has been the best of the four that are in the local Front Royal area. However, the course has fallen into disrepair, to the point where I would avoid playing it until after all the renovations have been done, and the course conditions have come back to their normal, and excellent selves. I do look forward to next year or so (summer 2017) when I will go back. I cannot recommend this course until then. There are other courses in the vicinity that do not exhibit the absolutely poor conditions (now) that Blue Ridge Shadows does. I'm hoping they make it through this time period.
