Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club

This is an interesting course, but first of all it is just north of Front Royal on Rte 522. Second it is laid out over the top of a small hill just next to Rte 522 with a big hotel towering over the course. Third it has a LOT of verticality. If you can get past all that it will be a fun round. It has a 600+ yd par 5 (from the back tees) and a lot of long tee-shots besides that...it's just a hard course with some interesting tee-shots, I won't spoil the fun. Get it while it's cheap.

Played as a single in less than 3 hours, as there were very few groups out on a cloudy day (no rain). The fairways were in great shape, the greens too other than a few unseemly ball marks on each hole (not the course's fault, FIX YOUR BALL MARKS people!). I really loved the design of the course as it always keeps changing elevations and directions. I'll be back, keep up the good work maintenance staff.

I always like this course. I think it is a little pricy at its reguler price. Golf now had a great deal and I took it. it is worth playing

You want to save $$$ and expect a good quality golf course? well, this is the place, then .. it may not be your top notch or a pristine type golf course, but for what you pay you won't be disappointed .. that's all I can say

Beautiful well laid out course in pristine condition. Would recommend this golf club to everyone. Can't wait to partake again!!

Great Day! Course is pretty good. With all the rain the rough is very rough and not mowed evenly. Some of the greens have been damaged by mowing too short and it will take months for these areas to recover. Back nine played really slow. Either an extra group jumped in someone took a long lunch and backed up many groups.

The staff are really kind. The course is simply Outstanding. I always this course and its valleys. The 15th tee is breath taking. It gives you more value for your money.

Played this course with my GF and we both enjoyed it very much. Challenging and varied holes. Greens were in decent shape, but fairly slow as I am used to Maryland National where I am a member. Would definitely play here again! $16 on GolfNow can't be beat!!!!

Fairways and greens were in good shape. Rough was 50% crabgrass. Not a course for beginners, very tight in places with some extreme elevation changes. Some have commented on the quality of the scenery but I found the cheap housing on the course unattractive. The scenery is better at SVGC or even Bowling Green.

The courses is very good condition and staff is very friendly. It's a challenging course.

Really liked this course. It was challenging, but fair! the greens were Airiated which made them bumpy and more difficult to read, but want to play here again when the green are"normal". Water hazards made it difficult but again it was fair. Traffic noise was less than desirable and hotel guests on # 16 distracted play. Lots of ups and downs and the Loupold rangefinder came in very handy at times. # 10 is a two club longer distance uphill. Tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. Starter was helpful for a first timer.

Nice course. Unfortunately, through GolfNow there was no warning that the greens on the front nine had just been aerified and that the back nine was closed for aerification. A real disappointment to drive more than an hour to play the front nine twice with greens that were un-puttable.

This is a great course, really enjoyed playing there. Extremely friendly staff.

Great course. We did get paired up with another twosome due to a tournament starting an hour after we did. It is challenging to play, some tight fairways. Great course though for the price and the challenge.

This course could be a great one if they allowed the greens to firm up and roll a bit more true and they monitored the pace of play. Although it was my first time here, the course was well marked and should not have required the 5+ hours it took to play. On every tee box there was a 3-8 minute wait. Requests to on course PA did nothing.

So close yet so far!

The course was wet, so it was cart path only. That naturally slowed pace of play. The dampness did not hurt play as much as my inconsistent swing. I already have a tee time for Monday.

What a ride this course was. I hope to return to play it when the conditions are good. The topography was very interesting and the ly of the land unforgiving....

Several holes are very targeted; course layout is awesome. Level of difficulty increases exponentially with winds from 11mph with gust of 25 and >. Non fare way hits will take their toll.
