Coyote Springs Golf Club

About
Coyote Springs Golf Club (previously known as Coyote Springs - The Chase Course) is located less than one hour from the Las Vegas Strip and just 45 minutes from Mesquite, Nevada. This Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is highly regarded as a must-play by Vegas golf aficionados. The course's stunning setting is sometimes referred to as "nature's cradle" since it's situated in a verdant valley completely surrounded by majestic mountains and peaks. While the scenery may be beautiful, don't let it distract you from the golf course's many challenges. Water and bunkers await you at almost every turn. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 second, whose bunkers at the second landing area will force you to think carefully about how to approach the Augusta-like green. In addition to the golf course, Coyote Springs offers one of the largest practice facilities in the country. This 19-acre facility includes 13 target greens and a short game area for pitching, chipping, and bunker practice.

out there
course is awesome and fun , staff is very friendly. Just a long as drive. No gas stations out there. make sure you have at least half a tank.
Absolutely spectacular scenery coupled with the course layout made this experience memorable.
Great staff! Excellent course layout! Well worth the drive!
Tony the Tiger
It's Great. Dec 1, 65 degrees, light breeze, playing time much quicker than last round there. Fairways forgiving but the greens have a lot of break and a bit of a roll out.
I will be back in the spring.
Desert Oasis
To me, the hardest part of this course is the approach shots. Many times the green side bunkers were directly in line with the pin placements thus demanding either very accurate distance control or a more conservative line that would yield very challenging putts on the highly contoured greens. Practice area is great and included so give yourself plenty of time to warm up. This is not a place to decide to stretch to the next longer set of tees compared to what you normally play. Be conservative and give yourself a better chance to score.
Adventure away from the strip
Played this challengjng course today and enjoyed every hole. The course is in great shape and an easy ride from Vegas. Dont miss the opportunity to play here. It's worth every penny and I guarentee that you'll have a great time. The fairways are true and the greens will give you some adventures. Friendly staff and comfy carts complete this fun time. Enjoy!
Great value. Very challenging.
Cold and rainy at the start but cleared and tuned into a nice day. Hate the propane carts and for some crazy reason (rain?) they decided to put armor all, all over the carts. Was horrible, between fumes, sliding off seat and getting on clothes and equipment. Never should have done this. Some problems on greens and fairways, but like the course and will play again.
Great experience
A freaking unreal layout. No monies spared on this place. Well with the trip. Tough. We will go back
Gem in the middle of Nowhere
Beautifully designed course. Amazing what it just have taken to design this course. Greens are designed for very good golfers with a lot of pins inaccessible. The day we played the greens keeper must have been in a bad mood because the pins were in impossible positions.
And there were only 27 golfers the day we played. So quick but quiet…
Disappointed they didn’t advise us that the greens have been punched and sanded either that day or the day before.
Not sure I would make the hour drive from Vegas again but was worth one visit.
AMAZING
The only downside is the drive. The people in the pro shop and in the restaurant were amazing. The course was in amazing shape. Probably one of the hardest courses Ive ever played. This course will definitely humble you.
Expected more
We were on a buddy’s golf trip. This was the first course we were going to play. We flew into Vegas and were on our way to Mesquite, NV (this course is at about halfway).
Check-in went fine, although their clubhouse was not great. It was extremely small, and the restroom was back in their storage room. They had our names on our carts, which was a nice touch. However, nobody told us where the first tee was, and we drove around for about 10-12 minutes looking for it. There was very little signage on the course. Also, the starter/course marshal/greenskeeper guy said there was nobody in front of us and nobody behind us, which wasn't true at all. Two groups ahead, and two groups behind.
Approaching the first green, our cart was about 30 yards off the green (no cart path signs). After we putted out, our carts would not go forward. So, we put it in reverse, backed all the way to the cart path, and then it STILL wouldn't go forward. We called the pro shop, and they said we parked too close to the green. We had to turn the cart off, wait for 3 minutes, then turn it back on, as this "re-sets" the cart. We followed those instructions, and it worked, but it REALLY put us behind. We didn't even tee off on #2. We just caught up with the other twosome in our group (the foursome behind us had already passed us). The rest of the round was extremely slow. We were waiting on people ahead of us, and groups were getting stacked up. The course marshal came along several times, but nothing was ever done about slow play.
The course itself was very scenic, but EXTREMELY hard, especially the greens. On the Par 3s, you could hit a shot that would end up 6 feet from the hole. But by the time you got up to your ball, it had rolled 30 feet away. But the course is what it is. If you decide to play this course, just know that, in my opinion, this course was stupid hard. There were ball marks all over the green, and there were several areas on the fairways that were bare or just plain dirt. The reason I picked this time of the year to come was because the greens are usually aerated in October, and generally are in good shape by the time November comes around. Granted, we were one of the last tee times of the day (11:40), so previous golfers most likely did not repair their marks very well.
Overall, the staff was very cordial, and the course had beautiful scenery. However, I would not play this course again. I expected a lot more for a $170 green fee. It was after 5:00 by the time we finished (a 5 ½ hour round), and that was rushing on the last 2 holes, as we were fighting darkness.
Must Play, Worth the Drive
Went on a guys golf trip to Vegas to play course for we’ve never played. Found Coyote Springs and sure glad we did! Honestly was a little skeptical driving out there but all of that went away once we arrived. The staff were super friendly. The restaurant, while not fancy, had really good food. Once we got to the course , wow. It was in great shape. If you like fast and challenging greens, this is the place for you. Great layout, challenging layout and tricky pin placements. Pace and weather were perfect. If you have played the nicer courses in Scottsdale, then you will like this course.
Loved Coyote Springs!
We had a morning tee time for 4. We had a great time. Course layout is a bit tricky, sand traps can be tricky. Greens are quick and tricky. Staff was great. Really friendly across the board, from kitchen to pro shop to starter. Highly recommended!
