Coyote Springs Golf Club (previously known as Coyote Springs - The Chase Course) is located less than one hour from the Las Vegas Strip and just 45 minutes from Mesquite, Nevada. This Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is highly regarded as a must-play by Vegas golf aficionados. The course's stunning setting is sometimes referred to as "nature's cradle" since it's situated in a verdant valley completely surrounded by majestic mountains and peaks. While the scenery may be beautiful, don't let it distract you from the golf course's many challenges. Water and bunkers await you at almost every turn. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 second, whose bunkers at the second landing area will force you to think carefully about how to approach the Augusta-like green. In addition to the golf course, Coyote Springs offers one of the largest practice facilities in the country. This 19-acre facility includes 13 target greens and a short game area for pitching, chipping, and bunker practice.

Blowing BIG TIME

It was the windiest golf day of my life. Normally, I love this course but it was stupid windy and because I drove ALL THE WAY out there - and it is OUT THERE - and I can't ever get pre-paid refunded, I gutted it out for 17 holes...by the 18th I just couldn't take it any more.

Great course to play.. some really tricky greens. Pace of play wasn't the best and we only saw the Marshall on the 18th tee. Would definitely recommend playing here if you are in the vegas area

Worth the Drive

In Vegas for golf trip. Rented car to drive out and worth the trip for the course. Very tough unforgiving course which slows pace of play. Making smart golf shots is a must. Well maintained and beautiful layout.

Grasshoppers everywhere!

We’ve always enjoyed this course in the past, and it is worth the drive. Conditions this time were not great though. Tee boxes were in poor shape and bunched together, lots of ball marks on the greens, and swarms of grasshoppers were everywhere on the course. Pace of play was very, very slow (about 5 hours, 15 min.). Sunny day though, and the sand traps are still great.

Troon at it again

Troon took over course and you can see the quality of the conditions going down, tee boxes to greens , Thai was always a good course to go give it a year and no one will be driving 1 hour from the Las Vegas strip to play here

Great Track

As a group, we continue to come back to play this course. (10yrs now) It is a little bit of a drive (1 hr), but worth every bit of the drive. Dollar for dollar , you can't beat it. Only one issue, first year we have seen this, Grasshoppers wow!! Still our favorite course in Vegas area!!

Grasshopper inferstation

We were so excited to have a chance to play this formerly beautiful course. However, the condition of the couse, coupled with an almost biblical infestation of grasshoppers made us feel that the course should not even be open. Unbelievably disappointing.

Not Much Fun

Coyote Springs is an extremely difficult Golf Course with many typical Jack Nicklaus design elements. This course is designed to be played entirely through the air with minimal options to play the ball on the ground. I honestly do not know how a high handicapper would be able to play this golf course.

The course itself is beautiful with stunning views of the mountains around the area, and there are some interesting holes. But not enough for me to recommend it for others.

In addition when we played, the greens were very slow and the course was overrun with grasshoppers. It appears that the golf course itself needs an infusion of money to maintain the layout.

If you're in the Vegas area, there are better options. Skip Coyote Springs and play something else.

Won't go back anytime soon

The biggest problem was the pace of play, its a tough course, but 5 hours for 15 holes is just stupid. Teed off maybe 5 minutes late for an 11:50am tee time and ended up stopping at the16th tee at 4:30pm because we had things wee needed to get too and there were still 4 groups on the hole.
Course is very hard design (somewhat laughable on some holes), bunkers in the middle of fairways and around the green, not many flat lies even in the fairways and greens with so much undulation that you need to be fairly close or you are going to have a crazy putt on most greens. If you aren't hitting it well, you will be in trouble.

Just too slow

Great course, conditions are always good but….the pace is ALWAYS just TOO SLOOOOOOWWW. There never seems to be a marshall on the course to speed up slower players.
Nice course but I won’t go back…the pace is a killer.

Sent out to early

The starter tells you to tee off after the group in front of you hits their 2nd shot. Wrong should be wait till they are on the green or off. Over 5 hrs to play waiting every hole 1-2 groups. On the 18th hole 1 group on the green 1 group in the fairway 2 groups waiting to tee off. 24 minutes to play the last hole. CRAZY

First time

I was looking forward to finally playing this course. I got a hot deal from GolfNow. I was paired with 3 very cool locals who played well and guided me around the course. The course wasn't in the greatest shape ,but I had a great time. I would like to play it in November or April-May. I'm sure it would be in perfect shape then.
