Waikele Country Club
About
Waikele Country Club sprawls across the gently sloping landscape of Waipio, just west of Waikiki. The golf course overlooks Pearl Harbor with views stretching to Diamond Head. The layout features rolling fairways and undulating greens, which are accented with strategically placed bunkers. Ted Robinson designed the course, incorporating his signature water features throughout. Keeping the ball in play off the tee is integral to scoring well on this layout. The fourth hole is a short par 4 that is known for being one of the course's greatest challenges. It plays downwind, requiring a skillful lay-up off the tee in order to set up the short-iron approach to the two-tiered green that is protected by a pond. On Waikele Country Club's back nine, the 17th is another favorite hole amongst players. Beginning on an elevated tee, the hole plays to a deep, narrow green with water and a small sand bunker to the front.

Beautiful course and great value for Hawaii golf!
This course was in amazing shape! A bargain for Hawaii golf. While there were no true ocean views the layout was beautifully done ! There was an event in the clubhouse which made getting food a little bit of a hassle and the cart person was not much better The shop is well stocked with items and the range is close by for easy warm up . I would recommend playing here for sure and will add to my future trips!
Lovely course
Course is in immaculate condition, layout is challenging but still enjoyable. May not be next to ocean or anything but still has a nice scenery with the beautifully manicured water features and the view of the bay. Will definitely include this course again in our next trip to Oahu.
Beautiful Course and 5-1/2 hours to Enjoy the Scenery
We're on vacation from the mainland. Waikele is a beautiful course. The layout is challenging,. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are well-maintained. Staff is friendly.
However, the pace of play was extremely slow. From hole 2 through 18, we waited an average of 5 minutes at each hole, There were several groups waiting at each hole. For a 5-1/2 hour round, we rate pace of play at Waikele as poor.
We learned from a Marshall at the 12th hole that there was a tournament in front of us, but we wished he would have tried to speed up play instead of just agreeing that it was slow.
Beautiful scenery course
Everything about the course was near perfect. Pace of play wasn’t good. We had to wait 10-15 min per hole due to slow slow group ahead of us. Tee boxes were the best I’ve ever seen
Food servers
This course is wonderful. The non resident rate is just too expensive. Also the food servers are not friendly at all. Just not what it should be when you’re playing at a country club.
Really enjoyed it
Haven’t lived in Hawaii for years. It’s good to come back and play the old courses again. Unfortunately, no dice to get a local rate - so everything feels pricey. But compared to other courses this one has a fair price especially if you get the golf now deal. We played it two days in a row once from the forward tees once and ones from the back tees. I did a lot better from the forward tees as a 12 handicap. there are at least an average of 25 to 30 yards difference, if you’re a single digit play back if not, I suggest you move forward.. staff is super friendly and a great greens - little quick even after a passing shower.
Gorgeous golf course
I played with my wife for Mother’s Day, was our first time . The course if so well maintained and manicured,, fairways are very very nice making you willing to walk bare shoes 😀
Course is very open and large, with some nice view , carts are brand new; of the best course we played in Honolulu!,
Fred S
Ice course with some views of harbor, greens are not consistent but still nice , some bunkers had no sand so you had to feel it before play, but it’s good enough for hitting long shots
One of the better courses in Oahu
First time playing at Waikele. Previous reviews were quite mixed but decided to give the course a try. It’s a fairly well-maintained course overall. Greens were in good condition two weeks after aeration which was surprising. Two biggest complaints about the course, the bunker sand was so hard packed; and the cart girl was nowhere to be found. Absolutely worth playing and good bang for your buck.
A “must play” course
I’ve played most of the courses on Oahu and Waikele is the one like to play as often as possible. It’s a nice layout and always in good condition.
One of best public courses on Oahu
This is a really fine course. I only gave it four stars for course conditions because they had recently punched the greens. Although the rates are somewhat higher it’s still a good value and a fun course to play.
Be careful with aeration date!!
Waikele golf course does NOT tell GolfNow their aeration dates and basically does not care about your reservation.
“If you’re making reservation at our website, then, we can inform you but if you’re making your reservation through GolfNow, you’re on your own.”
They don’t take any responsibility for it.
While other golf course such as Hawaii prince tells GolfNow to let user know about their aeration in advance, this course doesn’t.
Other than that, it’s good course to play.
