Royal Kunia Country Club
About
Royal Kunia Country Club boasts a reputation as one of the best and most scenic golf courses on Oahu. The course is perched high above the Ewa plain, offering panoramic views of the entire South Shore, stretching from Pearl Harbor to the downtown skyline of Honolulu to the famed Diamond Head. The layout rolls across a gently undulating landscape, offering a diverse layout of short par 4s and demanding par 5s. Water comes into play on a few holes and there are strategically placed bunkers throughout. Its coastal location guarantees that wind will be a factor in determining your outcome. The signature hole comes exactly midway through the course. Royal Kunia Country Club's par-5 ninth requires three strong shots that avoid the numerous troubles from tee to green including bunkers, trees, water, and of course, wind.

DIFFICULT WHEN WINDY
The course layout is fantastic. As this was the first time that I played this course, I was lucky to have been put with two local guys who could tell me where I should play my shots. The wind that day was gusting and this course has just enough water to make you think about almost every shot; excellent grass and the greens run true.
77% good
This is a fun course with a great layout. Overall is pretty open and you can really go for it on some of the holes. My only BIG complaint was that we got kicked off the course with at least 45 min of sunlight left and were told the 14th hole was our last. We knew that we were one of the later tee times but we could have come close to finishing.
Great views, good staff, not acceptable green conditions for price
A really solid layout, with great views, tons of bunkering all let down by greens that shouldn’t be attached to a course at this price or location. This may be a seasonal thing for Oahu and mid April being the most difficult green maintenance...I don’t believe so as the rest of the green areas on the course were better maintained. For non-residents, this would be a tough price to pay for this quality.
More than I expected
The club house isn’t much, 2 friendly attendants assisted me getting checked in with my TeeOff confirmation. The starter had a bucket of balls waiting for me in a cart as I left the club house. Driving range and practice green as small but in great shape and wasn’t crowded at all. It’s a little confusing to get to the first tee. The course is well kept. A perfect mix of challenge and fun. For most of the round pace was great 3 groups got bunched up and a hard par 4 which then kind of haulted the pace for a little while. The views are amazing and the course is fantastic. If I make my way back to Oahu I’ll be sure to play Royal Kunia again.
Royal Kuna GC Great Views
Great views of Honolulu and Diamond Head. Saw a rainbow ! Play was slow on a Easter Sunday otherwise great layout and challenging course. Staff especially the cart attendant and sals staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Course in great shape. Comfortable setting with nice staff. Club rental a little steep.
Am playing again.
Good course
Not a bad golf course. Everything else was sub-par.
The employee in the restaurant was super nice and helpful. The club house was practically a double wide trailer.
No marshal with slow play and the carts are really really old. No drink cart. Don't put up the wind shield. Can not see through it.
Playable.
Exceeded expectations. Player friendly, wide fairways, fast greens, & nice landing areas. Will go back. Wife loved the course.....
Beautiful Views
This is a great course. Condition is very good. Staff great. Pace of play a bit slow though. The views of Pear Harbor Diamond Head and Waikiki are second to none!
My first trip to Royal Kunia CC
Well we showed up early for our tee time 2:12 or so and they let us tee off early, but also told us we need to head in by 6:15 so I thought something was up, played played the first two holes seemingly OK no waiting, however from there on we waited on every hole every Teebox every fairway wait till we finished, I noticed not many people fix their ball marks on the green, Which were all very challenging., It was a beautiful course not very well picked up but all in all I liked it I doubt I’ll be back though.
