My visit.
The course has gotten better and the greens are nicer and so are the fairways. Something needs to be done about the massive pot holes every where you drive. It makes for a very unpleasant ride between holes. NO WATER anywhere on the course. That sucks on a really hot day.
Course needs work
Course needs work, but is a fun practice course. Greens need weeding, tee boxes need flattened and grassed and fairways need seeding but course overall is a fun practice course.
It’s just ok
The whole course is weeds but it’s something to hit off of. The greens were a combination of weeds and grass but they were nice and flat so you got a good roll but a slow roll, you have to be pretty aggressive to get the ball to the pin. Carts were in good shape. If you get a good deal on GolfNow it’s worth it.
Cow pasture
Worst course I ever played on ,no difference between fairway and rough non watered ,greens are diseased definitely not worth 30 dollars save your money
Nice layout, bad conditon
Oak Hill is a great course, when you look at.the layout of the course. Some challenges on some of the holes.
But overall, the course conditions are appalling, with the exception of the greens. The greens were in decent shape, not the best, but manageable.
As for the fairways and tee boxes, appalling. It was like hitting in a farmer's field.
It will take someone with vision, and money to bring the course back to it's heyday.
Has so much potential
This course could be the nicest in the county if someone put some millions into. The road coming in will tell you exactly how the course will be. Anywhere you hit with the exception of the greens is the same condition (very very rough). Has 0 ameneties. Pro shop is the only trailer there. This course should be $15 to play not $40. Unless you are a beginner, you’re going to hate the conditions.
The course has seen better days
You could tell that at some point in the past, this was a very nice course, but it has apparently fell on hard tines. The fairways were in rough shape, but the condition of the greens and bunkers were very playable, better than some we've played for 2 or 3 times the price. The layout was very nice and the two ladies that run the place were pleasant. No vendor license anymore so nothing to offer on the turn. Again, appears to have fallen on hard times, but hoping it'll bounce back.
Getting better
The greens have improved and are nearly perfect.
The fairways are starting to grow in, the tee boxes still need work.
The value is the best around.
Course in bad shape
Fairways had very little grass. Greens were ok but had not been cut. If it wasn’t for tee markers no idea were they were. Course is up for sale so owner not putting money into it.
Nice layout
Oak hills needs to grow some grass on the fairways. Greens were surprisingly green and shaggy that was the only reason I played the back nine. Good challenge with many elevation changes t-greens. Tough to play well off the sand and weeds in the fairways. Overall this course has potential to be good but it will need some work.
It makes a goat pasture look good.
If you like hitting out of weeds and fairway sand this is your place. Then getting scolded for finishing your round at 715 way before dark was a finishing touch. Don’t go here.
Better greens
Greens were in very good shape vs 6 weeks ago the last time I played here.m also traps were devoid of weeds and grass another improvement. Fairways are still relatively miserable.
I wish I could recommend this club, but I can’t.
First of all, my golf now app says I cancelled but I did not, my foursome all showed up for our 8am tee time. The course actually made me sad. This course must have been gorgeous when it first opened. Ample driving range, big course, open fairways, elevated greens, it could definitely command more money if the course condition was up to par. I gave it 2 stars because surprisingly the greens were in decent shape. Pace of play was excellent because we were all alone. We tried to buy beers but they let their license to sell lapse. We had one of us go to the convenience store and come back and still had the course to ourselves. Our conversation the whole day was we wish we could buy this course. I hope someone with deep pockets would do just that. The right management could turn this place around. If the greens stay nice I might try again in the summer so the fairways might be better.
