Oak Hill Condition
First time playing course. Guy in pro shop missed the customer service seminar, not a roll out red carpet guy but their unfriendly. Like the course layout but in below average shape. Paid $26 for weekend which is good but this was goat track. Has plenty of potential, just water fairways and greens.
Goat Track
Used to be one of the best courses around. Today, it makes Rivard look great.
Bad No Grass
No grass tees, fairways , and greens not worth 25.00 however it was empty so a good round to practice your game. So sad it has a great layout
Good Day at Oak Hills
It is a good course. Fairways and cart paths need work but course is a fun challenge.
Enjoyable
We have golfed here several times. Each time we go, there have been improvements to the course. We really like golfing here and will golf here again.
Good value for your money, Tight lies, smooth fast greens
Overall a very good trac .Could use some work on the tee boxes and the fairways are spotty but the lies are tight , the greens run fast and true. Ive always like the layout.
playing with friends
we have played this course a lot I have to say right now its in bad shape the greens in five or six holes where almost gone there was not much grass to be found on the fairways the course is in the worst shape that its been all year not worth more then 10 bucks SORRY OAK HILL BUT YOU DERSEVE IT
Just sad
Despite the fact that I live on this golf course it will be quite a while till I go back and try to play it again the condition of the soil the grass and the greens were all absolutely terrible
Not worth the money
Although we played this course Masters week with a higher than normal rate, it wasn't worth half the price we payed. Staff was friendly but the course was in pretty poor shape. I had heard later on the area had had some very hot temperatures and then a freeze so that may have had something to do with it. Rough was pretty much non existent and if you missed the fairway it was basically either dirt, rock or clay. Greens were decent, teeboxes and fairways below average. The group of us honestly felt the cart paths were a serious hazard. Severe slopes and basically 90% of the surfaces broken up and eroded with sharp edges and such. We eventually just did our best to stay off them. As far as the service, sandwiches were fresh made and coolers for the beer was a nice touch. Although, when my buddy cut his hand out on the course I was not impressed when the clubhouse didn't have a first aid kit of any kind on site. To sum it up, at I believe 80 dollars US to play definitely not worth the time. I'm not a fan of gimicky courses with lots of blind tee and approach shots. Maybe for the regular rates around 30 bucks when it's in better shape, but definitely a pass during masters week. Thanks
Unfriendly Staff
I have COPD. I asked the man behind the desk if they had handicap flags. His response was NO stay 30 feet from the tees and greens. While playing on the course I ran into a guy with a handicap flag and asked him if that was his flag and he said no it came from the office. He said they have lots of them and he gave me his as he was quitting. I don't know if they had lots of them or not, but the man at the desk could have said they are all out instead of NO. The greens on the front were nice. We only played 3 holes on the back because of super slow play from a 4 some that had cut in front of the group in front of us. Those 3 greens were bad. I was not expecting a country club but I thought the course was in pretty bad shape. I used to play here years ago but I won't be back.
Horrible
1 star is not Low enough for this disaster of a so called golf course. Unfortunately for me it's less than a mile from where I live.
A. Drive way and parking lot is horrible. If you decide to play this course drive a truck to get to club house.
B. No grass on all fairways, tee boxes are dirt, greens on back 9 are all packed down dirt. (I noticed grass seed on the tee boxes all trampled on. Move tees and water!)
Suggestion: close for 6 months, seed, fertilize and water. OR leave as is and sell property to a farmer.
Horrible!
A Neglected Course
A once beautiful course that I now live on has little to no grass on both the fairways and just off the greens. There is no chance to get up and down on dirt shots. A great layout that needs to be completely reseeded or your just playing on 18 holes of a dirt driving range.
Poor, very poor
This course, other than the greens that were in terrific shape, would be a poor excuse for a cow pasture. The gentleman who ran the pro shop had never heard of customer service! He saw no problem with a group of five playing. He suggested that they might let us play thru. Interesting concept. There was no way he would let us tee off even though there was no one one number one tee box.
This is absolutely the worst course we have ever played in our thirty years of playing golf
Would never do play this course again
