Swenson Park Golf Course - The Oak Course

Very nice layout given the course is in a residential area.

the staff were friendly, the course is very tough due to the one million squirrels and all their holes. The foxes always come out to say hi, which is nice. But you must walk carefully or you can twist an ankle.. We brought beginners and learned you cannot rent clubs. that would be nice if the course could accommodate that.

The course is a mess.. there is no fairway. The kitchen staff didn’t show up so no food, till noon. We played as a couple and the threesome in front of us were too busy smoking weed to play and we waited on every hole… this will be our last visit to getto golf at Swenson.

Fall is the best time to play this course. The greens are fast and rolling good.

Course looked good, dry but fair conditions, pace was slow (4:40 long round). It was a beautiful day though, so I didn’t mind being out there. They changed the layout since the last time I played, makes for an interesting 38 stretch in the back. Had a good round.

Showed up about an hour before my tee time. I seen no one on the tee box and and asked if I can go and Tee off early. He went ahead and let me tee off. One less hour for me in 100+ degree weather.

It is hard to complain about a $39 walking round on a Friday. The pace was a little slow at times and the tee boxes were all on uneven ground, but the greens were in good shape and as long as you stayed in the fairway, you didn't have to worry about the millions of ground squirrel holes. I really like this course and the way they've reconfigured the holes. It is so strange making "the turn" after hole 10. The staff isn't always the friendliest, but they aren't rude.
