Value plus
Price tremendous compared to other venues
Fairways not best put on closest patch
Greens good , par 66 good layout, some driveable par 4 's
Nice and fast
Very friendly people,
Average course, but good value.
I will play it again!
Great Easy going Course
Any day golfing in the sun is better than a day work in the snow!!!
Great beginers course
Played there with a buddy Friday and we had a great round. Course is in fair condition and needs a little more TLC. We arrived there a half hour early warmed up on the driving range then hopped on the cart and began our day. Took us 3 hours to complete 18 holes. $18 each including the cart, will definitely play there again!
Greens
Greens are much improved, still room for fairway improvement.
Waste of money and time
I played this course Monday morning for $23. An older woman assisted me with a gentleman's haircut. She was nice not very informative on the remodeling of the greens. I wish Golfnow would inform customers that North River Club is remodeling their greens. Hole 8 was in horrible condition. Stopped in the proshop for a bite to eat on the turn they did not have half of the items listed on the menu. I settled for a bag of chips that I found to be over priced. Left after the 15 hole won't be back. Greens sandy, rough. Prices too high. Shut it down or lower the prices to $10. GPS led me to some condos. Worst experience.
Great value
For an executive course the value is amazing
Course under construction
Course is under construction - wait until it is completed before booking. golfnow.com does not tell you that it is nearly unplayable. 3 greens are under construction.
Good Beginners Course
The overall course is in fair shape. 3 of the greens are dead or in the process of dying. No real shape to the fairways defined by what is a fairway or what is ruff. For me the course is a slightly longer Par 3 course great for beginners or people who cant really hit the ball far. I used my Driver on 2 holes, the first was a par 4 352 yard 9th hole and the Par 4 275 yard 17th ( just for fun). There are 6 par 3 holes and the rest are par 4 with the longest being 352 yards. Most of the Par 4's are between 228 and 300. For me its a good course to work on your Iron play. There are no sand traps around green so you can try an attack the pins. I was always warned not to play here because it was a dirt track. I found it a fair experience and actually look forward to going back again and playing. Bathrooms on course were closed so if you needed to go you had to go back to club house. Pace of p[lay was great because i Think i saw only 1 other group on the course. It took me 2 hours to play. Their website says its the home of the 3 hour round.
It should be closed...
I love GolfNow.com, and after my experience today I think they need to verify the courses that they are being a 'middle man' to. Golfnow.com should at least have an option to where they approve courses and put their stamp on them. I would not want my business tied to or representing this place in any way.
The course design is a shooting gallery... it's so bad you even have to drive across an active fairway to get to one of the tee's. It's one of those courses where you can turn in a 360 degree circle and see every hole. The condition at North River Golf Club (Pine Lakes) is not bad, it's absolutely awful. The greens are muddy with weeds and cut like most fairways at best. The tee boxes are scattered everywhere (the second tee I found in a ditch) with completely inaccurate yardage and no flat spots to tee up. The fairways are non-existent... it's as bad as it gets.
The one staff member I saw was nice. Don't waste a penny here or a minute here... I'm sorry I did. This place needs to be shut down and completely refit, or made into a foot-golf course.
Fun course
Had just the right challenge
Greatly Improved Course
This course has greatly improved under new ownership. The fairways and greens are in very good condition, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the value for your dollar is good. We have enjoyed playing the course this year because it is difficult enough to be a challenge, but not so hard that you get totally frustrated. Hope to go back for another round, soon.
4 par
for a short course it was in great shape and the staft were very nice and very helpful i would play it anytime there is no sand but some water its a great warmup course for your short game
Don,t buy tee times from Golfnow
With coupon you pay $16.00. Golfnow, at the sme time, same day, $38.00 and that was suppose to be they great Burner. What a joke. And I paid $18.00 booking fee for this gem
The course was in good condition. Would be better if it was drier. They never told us till the first tee that it was cart path only
Not bad course for the size. You can practise your short game. Will go back
Save your money
I wouldn't recommend this cow pasture to anyone. We only paid $15 and that was to much. There was no one at the bag drop. There were carts going in every direction. You didn't know who was playing your hole or another hole. I finally timed how long it was taking to play. It took 40 min to play 10 and 11. Of course there was no ranger to speed things up. Save your money and your time
Feels like home!
This is a wonderful place to be! The staff make you feel like you are part of a family! They are working all the time to make this course better and all their hard work is beginning to show! Very golfer friendly!
I'll do it again in 2016
This is a relatively manageable course, with water holes and some narrow fairways and you will use all of your clubs to score decently.
The best shape ever
I played years ago but is now in the best shape ever after new ownership is taking over
Good Improvements
We have played this course several times each year for the past several years and can definitely see the improvement this year. The new ownership is working hard to improve conditions. Greens are better, granite tee posts and new carts cost money. And that's what we could see. Must be plenty of work in the background that we couldn't see. It is a very nice executive course and worth a play. One very strong suggestion is to pay more attention to the bathrooms out by the 9th-10th hole. Needs some attention.
