Feels like home!
This is a wonderful place to be! The staff make you feel like you are part of a family! They are working all the time to make this course better and all their hard work is beginning to show! Very golfer friendly!
I'll do it again in 2016
This is a relatively manageable course, with water holes and some narrow fairways and you will use all of your clubs to score decently.
The best shape ever
I played years ago but is now in the best shape ever after new ownership is taking over
Good Improvements
We have played this course several times each year for the past several years and can definitely see the improvement this year. The new ownership is working hard to improve conditions. Greens are better, granite tee posts and new carts cost money. And that's what we could see. Must be plenty of work in the background that we couldn't see. It is a very nice executive course and worth a play. One very strong suggestion is to pay more attention to the bathrooms out by the 9th-10th hole. Needs some attention.
River North
This course has new ownership and they are doing a lot to improve the playing conditions. There is still a lot to do,
The greens are extremely slow. Even though the greens have been overseeded they are too slow.
The staff is very friendly and we will play here again
Play only as a last resort
New management, but they need to invest a lot to make this place playable. I played on a beautiful Saturday morning and no one was out there. Now I know why.
Needs a lot of work
At this point not worth the money. Temporary tee boxes, nor yardage signs, and rough greens make it almost impossible to take the game seriously. I did see a lot of work being done, but the work has a long way to go.
Not good for cows....no grass
Course in bad shape. Not worth the money. The rate they charge is $18 and golf now charges almost $15.
Will not play this course again.
This course is is good condition
Have played here many times and glad to see this course is in much better condition than earlier in the year.
OK for practice
My wife and I hadn't played in a few months so we thought it would be a good idea to play an executive course rather than go to the range. This course was adequate for our purpose. Short par 4's and par 3's. Most of the greens were not too bad but there were a few that had some crab grass. We played pick and place where there wasn't adequate grass and since we weren't keeping score it didn't matter. There was work being done on the course but the previous owners had really let it go. It may take a while before the current pricing is supported by the condition of the course. Bottom line: If you just want to go hit some balls, get a little practice, and you aren't used to playing at high end golf courses you might find the pace of play attractive. Note: There is not one bunker on this course
Work in progress
North River Golf Club (formerly Pine Lakes) was a nice practice course before new ownership. The new ownership has increased prices moderately, but you can see the fruits of the new investment already. The greens are fantastic compared to the conditions previously and you can see the new ownership's efforts at improving the course quality already. The driving range is significantly improved, greens are true and not bumpy with weeds in the mix. The course is far from immaculate, but it's nice to see the efforts going into improving this short course.
Great Value
The course is not really any better under new ownership, as it is in poor condition.
BUT, for a reasonable price it was a quick pace of play, at just under 2 1/2 hours - just perfect for a very hot day.
Fun course
We had a wonderful time and would recommend to anyone who wants to get in a quick round and enjoy the day. We met Michelle, the golf pro and she was extremely nice as well as her husband. It was also great to have draft beer at the end of the round. The course is easy, but very fun and for the price you can not beat it. Will play there again if we ever get back to the area. Since the course is short, walking is definitely an option.
Good Course
The course was made to have a good time, there are no sand traps but plenty of water. Fairways and greens are in great condition and getting better all the time. The club house is clean and friendly. I had a great time playing there.
GETTING BETTER
THE COURSE IS IN BETTER SHAPE THAN A YEAR A GO, BUT IT STILL NEEDS A LOT OF WORK. PREVIOUS OWNER LET THE PLACE GO, NEW OWNER IS TRYING TO BRING COURSE BACK. IT'S OK IF YOU GET THE GOLF NOW PRICE.
In need of a makeover.
New owners are in the process of upgrading this old course. Some improvements can be seen, but it won't be until the snowbirds leave, when they will be able to make more progress.
The greens are in better shape than they have been in years.
North River
North River plays relatively easy for the straight hitter.
this course is reborn
The new ownership has made significant changes to this older course with outstanding results. The green roll great and the fairways are no longer part of the rough.
Good improvement
The coarse is improving very good. Enjoyed myself.
