We enjoy playing Warrento, it’s a little slow at times, but it’s always in great shape
Painfully slow pace
My wife and I played on a Sunday afternoon and expected it to be somewhat slower paced as is the normal here. We didn’t expect it to be THIS SLOW. We were behind an older couple which the wife was wearing jeans on a pretty hot and humid day. We soon figured out the reason for the jeans. She would play a few holes here and there, the other holes she would disappear into the woods “ball hunting” to finally reappear somewhere around the green. The husband would chip onto the green then walk all the way back to his cart and shout that he was getting ready to putt, signaling her to hurry up. We would then wait for them to finally leave the green side. If this wasn’t frustrating enough they still had to wait for the foursome of drunk guys in front of them to each hit multiple balls off each tee, then look for all of the balls they hit. This was a relatively cheap round at $24 each, but was not worth the frustration. After 4 1/2 hours we quit on hole 16 after watching the foursome hit at least a dozen balls into the lake and woods while two groups waited on the tee box. The person in the clubhouse apologized, but no one addressed the problem.
Fun course
Course was in good condition and the greens and pin positions provided for a good challenge. Several short dogleg holes created some scoring opportunities and the par 5 yardage was shorter than most. Clubhouse manager allowed my twosome to start on a different hole to avoid a large group of 10 players with several carts just getting ready to tee off which was appreciated. Only took just over 3 hours to play 18 holes. Would recommend this course if you want to relax and have some fun.
Dog legs, dog legs, dog legs
Full course, fairways and greens were in great condition. Back 9 has some really sharp dog legs at short yardages which makes it “odd”. Some good scoring par 5s. Really fun greens, with some good slopes. Will definitely be back.
Great value!
Played this morning and had a lot of fun! This course has some beautiful scenery you wouldn’t expect— some hills and water, especially on the back 9. We were two couples and finished in 4 hours.
Great Course.
Top 10 for me in the Stl area. Ive played about 17 courses this summer including some on the Illinois side. Enjoyed it alot. Loved the pace of play. A 4 spme kindly let me play through and it was smooth sailing.
Good conditions. Some patches here and there but still played well all around.
Booked 18/Paid 18/ Allowed to Play 9 Only
Course charged me for 18 then told me I could only play the front 9 twice after I was charged. Disappointed I wasn’t advised before my Visa was ran for the full 18, when tee times as late as 7pm are offered for a full 18, and we booked 5:20 teed off early and finished front 9 in less than 2 hours. Management is too lazy to wait for a full round to be played but willing to lie and take peoples money. Will not be back for awhile, definitely not for a PM round.
Goof Value/Great shape
The course is in excellent condition. The greens were rolling a bit slow but were in great shape.
Today was a bit hot so there weren't many players. I played alone as a single and finished in less than four hours with a short stop for food and drink at the turn.
Great course for all skill levels. Friendly staff. A lot of good changes since change of ownership!
Good Ol Boys
Overall a decent course to play if you want to practice your inside 100 yard game…Be very careful when playing holes 12,13, and 14…. The three holes join ball landing zones off the tee shots and form a dangerous area for players for their second shots. Really need to use caution on these holes!!! Otherwise, nice layout, simple to play!
When I take a look on their site it looks like their latest tee time is always 5:52. I have played out there quite a bit on weekdays and they have leagues every week as indicated on their website. Those leagues take up one of the sides of the course every evening so if you book a tee time for 18 holes you still get to play 18 holes but you play one side twice. Most courses I have encountered that have evening leagues work the same way. Every time I have called to book a tee time they have notified me that before I booked.
