Just Awful
If you like smelling poo in the air and hitting off clay, this course is for you. Max price for this course should be $20. Will not be back. Every “amenities” on the course is broken, neglected or gone. The trash bins don’t even sit upright
Don't go.
Don't bother going here. The starter's "system" as he claims is not good. We had a tee time at 10:30 and didn't get to the box until 11:15. The pace of play was torturous. The fairways and greens are in terrible condition. The cups look like they have not been moved in weeks. I understand the price is intriguing, but you couldn't pay me to come back. Just a bad vibe overall.
Horrendous
Paid for 18 stopped at 9. Was incredibly slow and starter told us it would clear up every time we asked. Also the course is in horrible shape. Use mats as tees because it’s so bad. Won’t play again.
This course requires many different types of shots.
For the money, it is a very good value. I am very much upset about the high cost of playing golf. This is a great course for a very reasonable amount of money. Thank you for a great value.
First time at Steel Canyon
First time at Steel Canyon was an overall subpar experience. Course condition was absolutely atrocious. Tee boxes and greens are in absolute shambles. Cart path The first 3 holes smell like a sewer. Only positive was the price (GolfNow deal of $30/golfer, cart included), but I will not attend again unless the price makes sense. Great driving range, but they don’t share that the range is closed for “maintenance” on Mondays until 10, so I couldn’t even warm up.
Strange Course but do not pay full fee
They charge around $50 for a round here. Just entirely too much for a course of this low quality. Greens are terrible. Mud all over and just strangely laid out. One tee box had a mat it was so muddy. Stacked up on first tee waiting for three groups to go before mine (I was on time). Stopped at 9 holes because pace was so slow. I used a discount code and played on a hot deal. So I wasn’t too upset and was worth it to try this course out for the first time. But would never think of playing for full price.
Not bad.
Very interesting course. Lots of elevation change. Easy to tool roll approach shots off back of green to never be found. Overall, does the job in a pinch.
Not worth 50$
Plenty of other courses out there for much better value. I wouldn’t pay more than 35$ for a round here.
Not great
For this course to be located in Sandy Springs the course is not well kept. Greens are really bad. No where to get food. For the price it’s not worth it
Overpriced
This used to be a landfill, ok, so what, but navigating the course was a pain. Some signs were down, or were just not clear, we actually missed the 3rd or 4th hole. The Marshal chatted us up way too long and we were already several minutes over our Tee-off time. Then he came and found us not once, not twice, not 3 times, but 4 times over the course of our play. He was reall interested in my PXG clubs and took it upon himself to examine them several times over his several visits as if he was shopping since he had PXG as well, noting what type grips I had, I felt this was rather intrusive. I won't be back.
Disappointing
The condition of the beginning of the course is quite nice. Absolutely bizarre layout however, but that made it kind of fun. The further you go into your play, the conditions get worse and worse. Eventually the tee boxes are mats or mud.
Might be better during the summer.
Worst course ever
What a trash course. You can play kickball golf here. If that tells you anything
.
Horrible Conditions
As others have said, this course is far too expensive for how poorly it is maintained. The greens are overgrown with weeds, the bunkers are littered with gravel, and several tee boxes are just dirt or have been covered with a mat. The cart we were given had brakes so worn out that it would roll forward on anything but a completely flat surface. The staff was friendly enough, but this course is by far the worst I’ve ever played.
Just Sad
It is awful conditions when thee is potential for so much more. The greens are like shag carpet, the sand traps are weed traps and they do not spend a Dime on the course. . The bathrooms are dirt, cigarette butts and cans litter everywhere. There could be so much potential based on location but management does not care! Si very disappointing!
